He was not particularly strong, but he could be considered stronger. The grip he had upon the other’s arms was rigid and unmoving, his fingers digging welts into the other’s wrists. Back ramrod straight, he pulled the man from his position pressed up against the wall, and twisted, a breathless sigh when the shout of pain intermixed with anger permeated through the air. Not too loudly, of course. It had been most tiring, dragging their hostage across the back alleys of Somni, taking care to avoid the residential areas, and perhaps even more to avoid prowling eyes that were the most concerning of them all.
Eyes that would remain blind, he decided. After all, it would not do to lose so quickly in the game. Securing a scapegoat came first, an ally second, and if this could set into motion an entourage of events to follow that would perhaps stir some excitement into the dynamics of this city, all the better.
After all, he needed a distraction. Not from the consistent boredom, but perhaps to take the eyes of the citizens of Somarium off of his retreating figure. Take the spotlight, and shine it upon a corpse, so that only a single red eye would remain, unwavering. And then, he would take that eye for himself. For a single red eye bore great misfortune, and two to a world would certainly cause even greater calamity, and he could not allow his brother to live in such a world. And while he was ultimately unable to rescue his brother from such a world, then certainly, what he had to do was to take the world from his brother.
Remove the root of the misfortune, and surely brother would be happy.
He approached the destined meeting place with a smile, a shouting hostage announcing his arrival. Red and gold eyes bore into those of his accomplice. And then, he lowers his eyes, and blinks. Twice.
His eyes, Miss Kamelot. His eyes. Would you please present them to me on a silver platter, gilded with gold, a serviette of molten emeralds?
They would make such beautiful gifts.
