Fran was walking peacefully down the street, just enjoying the sights. She was wearing her wide, billowing cloak today, looking as though she was swimming in the oversize garment. She had discovered that the recent cold weather was not only pretty to look at, but the chilly temperature (which wasn't very common in Japan) made her skin and pores and stitches feel all tightened up. It was a very nice feeling to have.
...Of course, if Fran was thinking of experiments or anything like that, the moment she saw the handsome man on the street stopped all that. The young surgeon stopped in her tracks for a moment, and then continued on so that as they came closer she was able to smile and wave, and give a, "Nice day, isn't it!~"

Jareth turned a pleasant smile to her, though mentally he was a bit... confused. She looked human, she carried herself like a human... but what were those dreadful things on the side of her head?
"A bit chilly for my taste," he replied, before giving her a charming smile. "Though the sight of a lovely lady certainly warms my heart."
Well, that got Fran started. She blushed deeply at the compliment, and it looked odd on her pale skin with the blinding white snow around them. "R-really?~ My father always told me he felt cold as a corpse when he looked at my face~! I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder!~"

"My name is Fran," she whispered delightedly, allowing him to kiss her hand. "Fran Madaraki, of the Madaraki house~ I'm pleased to meet you, Mr. Jeremy~"

"The pleasure is all mine," Jareth assured her. "But please, do forgive me if I have questions, but... could you kindly tell me where I am? I was heading for Virgina, when I seem to have wound up in this strange place."
"Ah!" said Fran brightly, pressing her fist to her palm. "You're nowhere near Virginia~ This is a place called Somarium. You come here when you dream~ I'm not entirely sure that this place is real, myself," she confided. "I mean, I'm from Japan. There are people from all kinds of places gathered here- from different worlds, even?~ I've started somewhat of a study of this place, and I can say that your stay will likely be long-term, sir~"
Jareth certainly wasn't a stranger to different worlds, but a dream world? He was familiar with the Dream Lands of course, but an entire world dedicated to dreams? That was most peculiar. And staying here long-term... well, that was a bit of a problem, especially if he was "dreaming", and his physical body was still stuck in the Labyrinth. Sure, he had fallen asleep in a safe place, but with a new king at the throne, one could never be certain...
"Well, this is quite a shock..." he murmured, keeping up appearances. "I suppose the next question would be where one can find suitable lodging? Sleeping out in the cold certainly won't do me much good."
Fran just leered in reply for a moment, before saying, "Well, everything's free for the taking, actually~" She swept her arms into the air, motioning to their surroundings. "If you see something you like, it's yours.~ Isn't that great? Mansions, cottages~ Why, I was thinking that once my clinic's a bit more established I'll stake out one of the mansions for myself!"
"And you can~ Ain't life grand~" said Fran happily. "Try not to get too homesick, though. That's the thing~ I've been observing, and some people have come from the same world, while others are alone, like me~ But I like it here a lot, and I'm sure you will too~"
"Oh I assure you, Lady Fran, I was heading for Virgina with the exact purpose of running away from home," Jareth said kindly. Granted, he didn't plan to run this far away, and wanted his lovely Sarah at the end of the journey, but perhaps a stay here would make seeing her again that much more rewarding.
"Oh?" Fran blinked. "Well~ Sometimes it's good to get away from it all~" She paused for a moment, and then seemed to remember something. "Ah~ To help you out a little bit, should you find yourself ill because of this cold weather, you can always come to see me at my clinic~ It's in the fourth district. Good thing you're not homesick, 'cause there's no real cure for that, eh~"
Time to pull out the charm again; Jareth gives her a disarming smile, reaching into his suit jacket and calling one of his crystals to his hand before pulling it out.
"Such a kind offer from you, my dear lady," he said, before extending the crystal to her. "Please, accept this from me in return."
"Aaah~" Fran drew in her breath when she saw the crystal. "What's this~? It's so pretty!~ Surely you don't intend to give this to me? But of course I'll accept!" With a fawning expression, she took it in her hand admiringly. "Thank you~! Y-you're a very kind man~ I think I like you, definitely~"
"And I you, my lady," Jareth replied fondly, before giving her a small bow. "You must forgive me for taking my leave now, however; I think it best that I find a suitable place to hang my hat before the weather gets any colder."
...Of course, if Fran was thinking of experiments or anything like that, the moment she saw the handsome man on the street stopped all that. "Indeed, and such a beauty," he said smoothly. "But where are my manners? My name is Jeremy, my good woman. What might yours be?"
