Crimson eyes watched the young man closely, his struggle to breathe not unnoticed to the Witch. The boy in the cafe had not seemed to have any problems with controlling whichever urges they both seemed to have. But then again, even though they were the same creatures, it did not meant that they were both on the same side. The brooding boy had clearly been used to be around humans, but this young man, she wasn't that certain of it.
She looked up at the leaves and used their movements to place herself downwind from the young man, so that the breeze would not carry her scent to him.
"There's no need to pretend to be something you are not. This world is filled with non-human creatures...." she said, looking at the blond intently. She was calm, almost detached if it wasn't for the tiniest interest she felt for the man in front of her. She was a curious person and this world seemed to be filled with interesting people and creatures.
"From what I know, this world is a dream world. People come and go randomly." Yuuko reached for her Dreamberry and showed it to the young man. "You should have received something similar to this upon your entrance in this world. It will let you communicate with anyone present in this world, as well as show your dreams to others. And it will show you their dreams in return..."
I watched her closely, noticing that she had shifted in a manner that - thankfully - kept her scent from being brushed in my direction. I could feel that she had no intention to harm me, but her words were what truly caught me by surprise.
I was able to play off confusion well enough, giving her an odd look when she said there was no need to pretend to be something I'm not. Any normal person would do so. But when she continued to say that "...This world is filled with non-human creatures..." Well, then my eyebrows furrowed, my eyes narrowing ever so slightly in an even more curious fashion. "Forgive me, I don't think I'm all too clear as to what you're implying, Miss.." I frowned a bit.
My eyebrow rose in an arch when she began to explain further, extracting a small device that looked like a cell phone of some sort and claiming that I should have one as well. I searched my pockets and, sure enough, came up with this little device. I looked from the device back to this mysterious woman.
"This thing is going to show me people's dreams?" What in the hell for, I wondered. Now I honestly was genuinely confused. Just what was going on here??
Yuuko couldn't help herself and chuckled at the young man's attempt to deny her guess regarding his nature.
"I have met another one like you. Gold eyes, sparkling skin...he said he could neither eat or drink what the rest of us can. One can only guess that both of you are not human."
She nodded at his second question, easily noting his confusion: "Yes, it will. It is also useful to contact others living in this world."
My eyes widened at her detailed description of my kind. Especially the gold eyes... could it really be one of my brothers she'd met? Or maybe even Carlisle? True, we're not the only "vegan" clan, but...
I was perhaps a bit too eager when I asked, "Where did you find such a person?" I heard her next words, but I wasn't as concerned about this "Dreamberry" thing at the moment. If one of my clan was here, I very much wanted the comfort of being near him. It would be a lot easier to figure things out and cope with this if I could find him, especially if it were Carlisle.
Cuz to be honest... I was starting to become rather weirded out. This was like... some kind of strange dream.
Yuuko raised an eyebrow at the man's reaction of her description of the other boy she had met.
"I met him in coffee shop in the city. I believe he said his name was E...vans? Elliott?....Ed....Edgard?" she feigned to try to remember. She hadn't forgot that the brooding child's name was Edward, but she was baiting the other man to see if he knew him well enough that she could share more about Edward. She didn't owe anything to the vampire and she didn't have to protect him, but she does anyway.
It was hard not to smile. Her emotional aura had changed ever so slightly, and I could tell by her words that she hadn't forgotten who she was speaking of. And that's when it hit me. I had two brothers whose names began with "E," but only one whose name came close to Edgard.
"Edward." I supplied with a smile. I couldn't help it. What a relief. Of course I love all of my family, but Edward is the brother I feel just a bit closer to most of the time. I sighed, glancing back beyond the trees toward the village. So... Edward was here somewhere. I hoped I'd be able to find him soon. I'd feel so much more comfortable around people with him around to help me.
The Witch's smile widened as the demeanor of the young man changed as he gave her the right name of the vampire she had met previously. So not only did he knew the boy, but he seemed to be relieved to learn that he was in this world as well. Though they look nothing alike, Yuuko wondered if they were part of the same family.
"Ah yes. Edward. Quite the ball of sunshine and daisies he is, isn't he?" she added with a soft chuckle.
"May I ask what is your relationship to him?" she asked, her curiosity gaining the better part of her.
The smile refused to be removed from my face, especially when her air lightened significantly. I felt far more comfortable speaking to her than I probably really should have. I don't like to be so comfortable around humans generally, as a sort of self-rule... and especially in a situation like this where there would be no one to hold me back but whatever frail string of willpower I could muster. And that wouldn't be much.
But hopefully I'd be away from her soon and off to find my brother instead! I grinned, laughing at her description. "Sunshine and daisies... Edward? That's the first I've heard of that." I sighed, finally glancing back to her. My relationship with him?
"Edward is one of my brothers." I supplied, but tilted my head when I sensed her curiousity. I smiled, giving a soft chuckle. "I know, we look nothing alike. We're both adopted. But close."
Yuuko chuckled slightly at the confused glance the blond gave her: "I was being sarcastic....your brother seemed to be in a very bad mood when I met him...." Her smile didn't dampened at the memory as their encounter had amused her greatly, discovering how the vampire had been curious about her powers.
She nodded as the young man confirmed her suspicions about the two of them sharing a familial bond.
"I'm sure he'll be delighted to know that you have come to this world, then."
She observed the young vampire once again. He seemed concerned about something, as if doubting himself. Yuuko couldn't stop herself and asked:
