Who: "Dist" (well, Ion, but it looks like Dist) and anyone else. Where: Somni, at the main library. Style: Either~! Status: Open. Come and make him feel even more ridiculous. :>
Rune had been exploring the city off and on these past days, because well, there was little better to do other than meeting people and talking to them on that weird device. He still wasn't quite used to this place, but he was settled a lot more than he had been previously.
At this point, he decided to check out one of the libraries. Though he preferred to learn by actually experiencing things for himself, and had the advantage of having much experience to have seen also, here he was at less of an advantage than he was in his own world. He'd have to remedy that and reading was indeed a good quick way to do so.
He was glad to see a familiar face, if he recalled right, that man was currently Ion, since he remembered the card only worked for a week and they hadn't been able to find a way to deal with it more quickly. He walked over to the man who at this time was actually eye level with him. "Good to see you again, it is still Ion, right? Or am I speaking to Whiny now?"
Rune couldn't help but smile. Ion was just the type that made you feel completely comfortable around him, even if he did look strange as he was right now. "I'm sure it will be gone soon."
He nodded. "Not much else to do around here, and if I want to go home someday, may as well find out some more about this place."
Rune nodded. "At least no ways anyone has tried work. I know for a fact that teleporting is blocked to those of us who have that ability."
That still annoyed him, for a time he had wondered if his magic was blocked completely, but at least he came to realize that he was just somehow only able to use it within the area. "But yes, knowing as much as possible about this place can't hurt at all. At least that way there isn't surprises like ending up in someone else's body."

He had to admit, at this point in time, he wasn't looking for anything in particular, just knowledge that he lacked. "Nothing in particular unless you've been here before and found any decent books that you can recommend. I'm just not used to knowing so little about a place."

"Considering what I've heard, law seems to not exist, except for what we do to ensure people behave. I've seen worse."
In fact, his mind just cringed at the thought of what was worse. Though Rune himself hadn't been around during those days, there was a part of him that was and knew just how horrible of a time it was for his kind.
"Does your world even know what happens to you after you die? I would think what happens here would be as unknown as it is in my own world."
"I can't speak for all the people, there are three major races after all." Of course Rune wouldn't mention the fourth, he was always very secretive about his own people. "The most common belief is that the person will watch over you from afar."
Of course, Rune knew for a fact that in some cases, their spirit did live on. He'd met all the previous heroes and spoke with them through the Elysdeon long before he had given it to Chaz. But they had chosen to do that, to be around to guide future generations, and the relics served as a vessel for their souls and memories.
"People returning into a storm? That just sounds weird and somewhat unpleasant. What makes a replica so different?"
So he guessed fonons were some sort of thing that composed things on Ion's world, something like all the elements that fueled magic and techniques on his own, but it appeared they had other uses.
He couldn't help but smile though, oddly, it was interesting to learn about other worlds and maybe while he was stuck here he could learn some things to bring back to his own world. This technology of replicas could very well prove useful if he found any details about it. Of course, he'd have to tell some things of his own world.
"It's far easier to believe when you've actually spoken with heroes from previous generations. Rather humbling too when you realize that you're an idiot compared to them."
