Frederic did see him, but didn't know he was watching him. Wolfwood's sunglasses made him slightly unnerved, because he had never seen anything like them in his own time. Frederic gave him a slight nod of acknowledgement, and then assumed he didn't want to speak with him because he didn't say anything.
"I would be... If I knew where I was meaning to go." Frederic admitted with a slightly nervous smile. He was looking for a place to live for the time being, simply because it's best to have a place to explore out from... But he didn't have any idea where to look.
Also, though he had spoken to him, Frederic didn't feel like this man was all that trustworthy yet. While he had met some nice people so far, some of the opposite were sure to be in this world as well. The last thing he needed right now was for someone to try to mug him.
"Ah. Thank you." Frederic said with a nod. He had been wondering wether new arrivals here really did just pick a house, or wether they had to ask someone for it first. That seemed like it could get very unorganized, but at least it was simple.
"Have you been here long?" He asked, honestly feeling curious about just how long some people ended up remaining in this dream world.
Frederic tilted his head slightly. This man thought that this world was the afterlife? ... Could the others have been wrong? Then again... If people disappear and come back with new memories, it couldn't be the afterlife. Had he not been told that?
"Interesting... I was told this was a dream world. I originally thought it was the afterlife too... But a man I met earlier today apparently woke up in his own world, and came back here again." He explained.
"I..." Frederic wondered how to respond to that. "I thought I had died too. My physical body was dead at any rate... Still, I think if this were indeed hell, it wouldn't be this calm and quiet. Either that, or every priest I have ever met was lying to me."

He couldn't help but laugh at that. He hadn't been able to tell that the man was a priest at all! Frederic was relieved that the man had finally loosened up because of that. He reached out and shook Wolfwood's hand. "My name is Frederic Francois Chopin. Pleased to meet you."
Though he didn't want to show it, Frederic felt almost a little scandalized. Ch... Choppie?! Was his name really that hard to remember?
Frederic really hated to put the possible similarity between them into question, but he really did feel the need to explain his situation properly. He didn't want the man to learn later about it and possibly feel hurt.
"Well... Physically I was dead. Or at least I thought so." Frederic said. He shook his head in slight frustration. "To be honest, I just don't know anymore. I was fully conscious still somewhere else, even long after I had died."
"This village is very similar to something I would have seen in my original world." Frederic said, looking down the street, and thinking of others he had seen in his travels. "Though it's much more peaceful so far that any there." Understandable. The world was full of strife, to be specific, the wars. "Where I was just before I arrived was very beautiful... But I wouldn't compare the two. Each world has it's own sort of beauty."
"I truly don't know what it was anymore. I had thought it was a dream." Frederic said with a shake of his head.
"What was your world like then?" He asked. He knew that he probably wouldn't understand the explanation, because the village seemed like something normal to him. However, he felt it was more polite to ask, rather then being the only one talking.
