Uh oh. Would this propensity for bumping into someone also extend to stumbling? Because there may well have been an obstacle in poor Subaru's path, in the form of a length of golden hair, weaving over the ground in a serpentine fashion while its owner peered into the windows of buildings she passed to see if any were interesting shops.
Rapunzel was out exploring. And though she registered the sounds of someone walking nearby, it didn't occur to her to look back. Instead she darted forward to the next little street, unintentionally pulling her hair about Subaru's feet like a trip wire.
He hadn't noticed the hair at first, still looking up put then Kou barked and tugged at the leash as it moved which with the movement of having his feet pulled out from under him sent him falling foward.
"Ow, e-eh what was that?" Fixing the hat he was wearing, Subaru suddenly realized he had let go of the leash as he fell as he watched the puppy dart in the direction of the golden trail. "Kou! Wait come back here."
Rapunzel vaguely noticed that her hair had caught on something. She turned around quickly, peeking around a corner to see what it was and cringed when she saw the boy who'd fallen. Oh. Oops. She really needed to work on braiding her hair up better while she was wondering around this place. It was still something of a tall order for her.
Glancing down she saw the puppy headed in her direction and crouched down a bit to intercept the little dog. Her small green chameleon skittered further up her shoulder, turning the same color as her hair to blend in. She glanced up though. "Are you all right?"
Oh there was someone else there, Subaru felt a little embarrassed that he had fallen now. Getting up he started walking over to where the small beagle had alread stopped, wagging it's tail and barking a time or two. "A-ah, yes I'm fine. I just tripped over something."
He brushed himself off a little before squatting down down a little to grab the leash that he had dropped. "Thank you for catching him for me, Kamui-san just gave him to me for the holiday so I haven't had the chance to train him much yet."
Subaru was definitely not the only person today, who was walking while lost in thoughts. Ruca was like that, too, but his thought wondered to back home. Yet the situation back in his world was not his only worry. The fact that he was all alone in this still unknown for him world was making feel lost.
Not paying attention to where he is going, it wouldn't be surprising if he bumped into Subaru. And if he did, he would apologize almost immediately.
Subaru had hear Kou playfull bark a moment, and looked down just as he happened to bump into someone else that was walking by. Subaru immediately bowed holding onto his hat, "Excuse me. Please excuse me." He bowed a second time in apology to the other.
"I should have been watching where I was walking, I'm sorry."
"Ah, it's alright I'm fine so as long as you're not hurt it's alright. Really, Hokuto-chan scolds me all the time about watching where I'm walking." Subaru waved a moment smiling a little now to try and relax and hopefully calm the other down a little as well.
Subaru feels the tug of the leash as the puppy begins lowering itself and then hopping up playfully as it barks. It would bark and then hop from side to side before barking though after a moment or two it hid behind Subaru's legs as he squatted down. "Come on Kou, don't scare them. I'm sorry he just hasn't had a chance to come outside much lately."
"Yes he has been, but I brought him out today since the weather seems to be a little more agreeable." It was just then that Subaru realized that he was talking to a cat. He blinked a moment, still petting and holding the puppy that started tugging at the leash once again, his tail wagging back and forth.
Of all the people Subaru would have been expecting to run into on his walk, Seishirou Sakurazuka likely would not have been among them. Seishirou's just gotten here, actually--and he's been doing little else besides wander around (smoking all the way) and check his dreamberry, which has actually been very informative, thankfully. The entire reason he'd come out this far, however, making his way out of the city where he'd initially arrived and into this more quaint little town was the fact that he could feel the familiar tug of his own magical signature; it was weak, which was somewhat odd, but he followed it out of curiosity.
Truthfully, of all the people Seishirou had been expecting to run into, Subaru had not been one of them--especially not the Subaru of, to him, nine years ago. But there he was, gloves and all (that would explain the muffled magical signature), walking a small puppy down the street as if nothing had ever happened. Well, for him, Seishirou supposed, nothing had. It was almost disconcerting, this proverbial rewind

Subaru had been lost in his own thoughts as he walked, the puppy at his feet occasionally catching a leaf and jumping back and forth as the two of them walked. He wondered how Hokuto was doing, as well as Seishirou and his grandmother and Yuya-kun as well. However he was pulled out of all of those thought by a familiar voice calling his name. It had been two months since he had heard and it sounded a little different than he remembered, but still it was recognizable and he immediately before to look around for the other man

When Seishirou was standing before Subaru at last, he gave him his most brilliant, sunny smile. "I am indeed," he agreed with a light chuckle, "and so are you." He placed a hand on the boy's thin shoulder, everything about the gesture friendly and open. "I'm very relieved to see you, Subaru-kun," he admitted. "Here I thought I'd wound up in a strange city all on my own--but at least I have you to comfort me! Is Hokuto-chan here as well?" He made a show of looking this way and that, as if the girl might appear around a nearby corner at any moment. (Which, for all he currently knew of the situation, she might.)
"However," he added, slightly more seriously, "there is one concern. No doubt you've noticed it by now." At close proximity like this, it would have been impossible not to. "You were twenty-five the last time I saw you, Subaru-kun--which for me was quite recently." Just hours, really--it seemed that one moment, he was dying in Subaru's arms, and the next he was here! Not the sort of afterlife he'd been expecting at all.
"I've actually been here for two months, well just over two months actually since it was about Halloween." Subaru blushed just a little at the hand on his shoulder but nothing that was compared to most of the times when the other made him blush. At the mention of Hokuto though his smile fades a little, "She's not here, I was actually hoping that maybe you would be able to tell if she's alright since i haven't been back."
"T-twenty five!" Subaru flails for a moment, accidently pulling the leash and causing the puppy attached to back. "A-ah sorry Kou."
Squatting down Subaru pets the beagle puppy. "I guess that means then that you must be from the same time as Sorata-san. He said that he knew me too, and someone named Kamui that was similar to a Kamui that I met here. But I'd never seen him before. It's kind of confusing, but maybe Kamui-san or Serenity could explain it to you. Oh but how's Hokuto-chan and do you know Yuya-kun is doing?"

"N-no... don't apologize!"
He also bowed a little.
"It's my fault. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going..."

"Are you out getting a little fresh air as well?"

Even though it's only small the sight of it makes the hair on the back of his neck stand up somehow.
