[The main plaza of Somni's shooping district is eerily quiet tonight, despite there being little under a week left before Christmas. The giant Christmas tree continues to dominate the centre, illuminating the plaza in red and green lights.
Then, one by one the green lights wink out, to be replaced with a more sinister red.]
Switch Over.
[From out of the darkness steps Eas, who approaches the front of the towering tree. With a wave of her hand, the front opens up like a doorway, revealing a bounty of lovingly-wrapped presents cocooned within the tree's interior.]
Very good, Nakewameke. Now, continue your work, until every Christmas present in Somni is yours!
[The entrance closes up, and the tree rumbles. Its form shifts, becoming more monstrous, with the bright star on top growing a bright red diamond in the centre. Streams of tinsel burst out from its body and disappear into the darkness of the night, only to be reeled in clutching presents.
Eas stands in front of her monster, chuckling as she observes her handiwork.]
Without these presents, the happiness of this event will turn to sadness and despair.
Prepare yourself, Somarium. To witness how fragile your pathetic and pointless little event truly is.
