[Sorry.

[He barely catches it. If it hadn't been for the faint stirring of Aya's breath against his neck he wouldn't even have known she had been trying to speak at all. Ken stops short, straining to hear-- he wishes he hadn't bothered trying. Sorry. Why is she sorry? He's the one fucked this one up, he's the one wasn't there when she needed him and it was all that Aya had asked from him, the only thing she wanted and he couldn't even get that right--

[Can't get anything right. Can't even get running right. Ken doesn't know where he's going, he doesn't even know how long he's been running for, he just knows he's breathing too damn hard and too damn fast and there's blood on his shirt, desperate, terrifying amounts of it and it's hot and it's sticky and it's hers and that's the most unbearable thing about it, and he can't run any more. He shouldn't have stopped, shouldn't have let himself realize that he's gasping like he's drowning in air, that his lungs are burning and his arms are shaking...

[She's sorry. Ken drops to his knees ( ... )

[Ken must have the most twisted case of luck tonight because there's a doctor nearby, one out after a bite to eat who hasn't done much good or bad lately. Caring for natives is a simple job and it doesn't eat up much of his time or energy.

When he first notices Ken, Muraki pauses, not sure if he should disappear or not. Ken has, after all, threatened to kill him if he screws up again and he's not fond of the idea of dying again. But once he notices that 1 - there is someone in Ken's arms and 2 - that someone is bleeding heavily, all of his worry fades and his mind tells him that this is not the time to be anything other than professional.

Saving the person he's carrying is more important than petty grudges and will be an excellent opportuniy for possible use against him. He steps in closely little by little, keeping both hands visible so Ken can tell he means no harm right now.]

I realize I may be the last person you wish to see right now, but I can help if you let me.

[OOC: At least I was still tracking it!]

Huh?

[It takes a moment for it to register why the voice sounds so familiar, and when it does - when he looks up because sometimes you have to know exactly how screwed you are - he feels like someone's cut the ground from under him. Damn it, wasn't this situation messed up enough?

[Muraki. Fuck.

[Hey, Hidaka. This reminding you of anything, you idiot? Muraki is probably the last person he would have ever wanted to see, ever: that's especially true right now. Why does this shit have to keep on happening, why can he never seem to make it stop? Ken clutches Aya tighter to him and please say he didn't hurt her, please, he glares up at Muraki from behind a fall of his own tangled hair and he's furious and he's terrified and he's trapped and what's worse he knows it. All he can do is run and he can't do that. There's nowhere to go. There's no one else to turn to--]

What do you want?!

[Ken can't believe it's anything good. You want to help? Come off it!]

[There's no blood on his clothes, Ken. Muraki wasn't the criminal tonight. He's in the right place at the right time to help for once, but it might take a little coercion to make it happen.

He can't blame Ken for being nervous or afraid of him given what's happened in the past, but for once, there's nothing cruel in his eyes or his voice. Muraki's powerless to do anything other than try to help.

Especially when he looks at Aya-chan and realizes who it is. She's believed in him more than anyone else here. Failing to help her would be a horrific failure.]

I want to save her life. From how she looks, you don't have time to get to the hospital and my clinic is just down the block.
