Since his arrival a bit over a month ago, Ivan had spent a good majority of his time in one undesirable situation or another. If it wasn't waking up in a strange world in the condition he had, then it was being utterly overwhelmed by enemy forces and causing his companions to be endangered because of it. Once he'd finally recovered from the combined damage of his initial injuries and the strange energy sapping gem implanted in his forehead (which Kotetsu had also suffered with) -- he'd resolved to train.
It was something which he'd promised himself during that fight near the end of last month -- that if he survived he would hone his skills. It unnerved him far too much to know that he was the one holding the others back. He didn't want to be a liability anymore.
So that was what brought Ivan to the outskirts of the park, which he silently mused was the same one he'd encountered Kotetsu in the other day. Today was a different story, though. It was time to begin his training.
Looking toward the wooded area on the outskirts of the park might result in catching a glimpse of shuriken whizzing through the air before becoming firmly embedded in the center of a makeshift target on a tree. More peculiar, however, might be the sight of the young man changing forms every once in a while -- perhaps one minute he's taken the shape of a grown man and the next his head could be popping out of a tree trunk. Shapeshifting wasn't exactly the most useful ability when it came to fighting crime, which made this all the more vital.
