[Lightning, not one for festivities, is off to the side leaning against a particularly large stack of hay bales, merely observing. It was nice, even if she wasn't an active participant, and the buzz and excitement around the area was a quiet, comforting reminder of the way Bodhum used to be.

She's open to conversation, she might even move closer to the flames during colder breezes, but she mostly stays perched and solitary.]

[Hey there Light! Tifa sees you being an unsocial wallflower, so she's going to come up to you to talk.]

Lightning, right? We've spoken before. I'm Tifa.

[She acknowledges the familiar face with a nod, and folds her arms tightly to her chest.]

I remember. It's a shame we didn't speak under better circumstances, though.

Things happen, unfortunately.

[She motioned towards the bonfire.] Not one for social gatherings?

That they do.

[She follows her motion, eyes fixated on the flickering flames in the distance.]

Not one for socializing in general. [She shrugs, since this is an admittance she's not ashamed of. Anyone with half a brain can tell just by looking at her, after all.

She nods quietly at Tifa, though, to signify that she doesn't mean to end this one.]

I know someone exactly like that.

[She tilts her head a bit.] In fact, you kind of remind me of him. Have you ever met Cloud?

[Ivan, who's not really social enough for such functions, (not without his hero suit to hide behind, at least) also opts for hanging around on the outskirts of the bonfire.

Being as quiet as she is, he doesn't notice the woman at first -- but when he does...]

A-Ah, I'm sorry. I didn't realise there was someone here already.

[Of course he has to apologise for something as unnecessary.]

[While she would have preferred to spend her time there quietly to herself, she's not opposed to someone else joining her. Who was she to shoo people away, after all. She was here by herself anyway, mingling here and there wouldn't kill her.]

You don't need to apologize. [She motions to the area around her with a hand.] There's more than enough room for someone else here.

I see. T-Thank you very much!

[He shifts awkwardly before hastily offering a half-bow and moving a bit closer. He's silent for a minute, unsure of what to say to the young woman. Then:]

So then, h-have you been in Somarium for a long time, Miss?

[She nods at his thanks, brow lifting a little at the bow and insecure shuffling. Those actions remind her a little of the way Hope used to be, and in a small way still was, and she finds an odd comfort in it.]

Lightning. [She offers the name quickly in place of Miss.] And I've been here for about two months.

[A quiet sigh, before she presses her back even tighter to the hay and folds her arms, then spits out with slight irritation:]

But according to others, I've been here for a year. [A pause, before she adds:] I don't seem to remember that, though.

[She nods curtly to the boy, silently throwing the question back.]

[guess who's also going to stick to the sidelines with you? lighting a cig.]

Didn't think you'd show up to this kind of thing.

I've got nothing better to do right now.

[A light shrug, as she nonchalantly swipes a hand through the smoke emitted by the cigarette.]

Besides, you don't exactly look the type to enjoy this either.

Was just down here to pick up a few things. Figured I'd might as well stay for a few minutes.

It looks like a few minutes can quickly turn into a few hours here.

[Said a little offhandedly, like she's speaking from experience.]

[In the depths of the night, there's the swooshing sound of fabric hitting the wind before the pile of hay trembles, the 'thud' of something, or someone, falling into the soft hay canopy. There's no one around, just the small chapel not too far from there.

After a short moment, the pile shakes and from it comes out Desmond. He shakes his head to make the twigs stuck there fall and he dusts his hoodie before looking up at the bondfire.]

[That little stunt catches Lightning's eye, and while she may have only caught sight of the landing and re-emergence from the hay, it's a curious enough one to warrant her attention.

She kicks off from where she's standing, boots thudding against solidified mud as she makes her way over. She stops just in front of him, and folds her arms.]

Nice landing. [She might sound just a tiny bit sarcastic.]
