[ Her garden hadn't grown in yet, so Ray had to settle with buying fresh groceries weekly for her new restaurant. She didn't mind too much, as it was nice to spend a few hours away from the restaurant once in a while. ]

[ Today, she decided to walk rather than take the public transportation. It was nice out, and if she cut through the park, she'd get some nice scenery too. Plus, transportation that wasn't flying always felt weird and cramped. ]

[ She was hugging a large bag of groceries -- mostly fresh vegetables and a few bottles of alcohol -- when she spotted a man sitting atop a toy tiger. The image was... unexpected. He reminded her a little of Charles. ]

[ And she couldn't help but stop and stare for a moment. ]

[He doesn't take notice of the woman standing off to the side, bags in her hands and a look of question on her face, until he nearly tumbles off the tiger due to one overshot swing of his leg. He catches himself, though, just in time and after a moment of absently resetting the hat on his head, he waves awkwardly in her direction.

How embarrassing. He's laughing though, like it doesn't bother him much at all.]

[ She can't help but laugh along as well. It's nice to see a grown man who's still got a little bit of a child in him. ]

[ She approaches, and then says teasingly: ] I think those were made for someone slightly smaller in size.

Are they? I never really thought of that.

[He rubs sheepishly at the back of his head. He doesn't just have a little bit of a child in him, he's just down right childish.]

I used to play on these with my daughter back home.

[He perks up at that laughing, and turns his head quickly in the direction of the laugher. He doesn't think there's anything funny about what he's doing... he's just a grown man chilling out on a park toy, reminiscing quietly. Nope, nothing funny there. So he gives her a curious glance.]

What's so funny? [And he's looking around, darting his eyes back and forth across the area. He wants a good laugh, too!]

You're never too old to have fun at the park.

[And he firmly believes that. He shrugs lightly, offers his own smile in return, and resumes kicking idly at the sand.]

[Well Kotetsu, guess which one of your favourite roommates also happened to be in the park at the moment? Ivan had been seated on a swing near the opposite side of the park -- so he's really not shocked when Kotetsu doesn't notice him. Besides, he's used to being in the background. He merely sits and watches the older man for a moment, swaying slightly in his seat ( ... )

[Kotetsu is snapped out of his reverie by the sound of sand crunching under someone's feet, and he lifts his eyes to see who it might be, and if it might be the daughter he's thinking of. The park had been oddly quiet during his visit, but he didn't exactly take the time to scope out the place. He just... sat down and did his thing. It didn't really matter to him if anyone saw.

So when he sees that familiar face, standing not far off and looking a little unsure as to what he should say, he lifts the hand under his chin and waves. It's not his daughter, but it's still a face he doesn't mind seeing. It's the least he can do to greet the boy, the boy he hadn't taken note of earlier despite him clearly having been there. Oops.]

Hey there, Origami. [He gestures with a half-hearted swipe of his hand for the boy to join him. There are other things to sit on around him, all a little to small for them both, but if the other wants to stand, that's okay too.] How long have you been standing there?

[No, Ivan's definitely not Kaede, (he's not spirited enough to be her, let's be honest) but he cares about the mental state of the older man, regardless. At the greeting, he loosens up a bit, no longer quite as glaringly obvious in his awkwardness. But, being Ivan, it's still there.]

Ah, hello Tiger-san...

[He shuffles his feet, still a bit unsure as to how to approach the situation, when Kotetsu motions for him to join him. He blinks almost comically at that, because the toys are all clearly made for children, certainly not for grown men like the one currently seated on the springy tiger. It's certainly not out of character for the man to act in such a manner at times though, so he cracks a tiny smile at his companion's antics, but continues to stand for the moment being.]

I've only just arrived, really. I suppose we both needed somewhere quiet to think. [He glances down at his feet, kicking the sand around listlessly.] I... I'm sorry if I've interrupted you, though.

[When his fellow hero tells him that he's only just arrived, he sighs quietly, relieved that he at least didn't outright ignore the other. At least, he doesn't think he did. He nods when he just decides to stand, not all that surprised. None of the other toys were as cool as his, after all.]

No, don't worry! You didn't interrupt me.

[He kicks off to launch his seat back and forth and again, back and forth. He gives the other a concerned look, analyzing him with a lifted brow and a tiny, concentrated frown.]

Are you alright? You look a little down.

[Sup? Clonezy is reviewing music on a bench and...seriously, dude? Now he sees why clones are made to replace humans. With no idea of his internal angst, not that he would care about it anyway, he easily glides over. He's not sure whether to laugh or take pity. Hmm, what about a deep sigh and a dramatic hand to his forehead?]

Are all humans like this?

[He hadn't even taken note of the... "clone" sitting on the bench until he approached and spoke up. He merely offers the... "clone" a disinterested glance, brow lifted and lips curled ever so slightly into a frown. They didn't exactly kick off on a friendly note, and so he doesn't offer a friendly greeting.]

Are all humans like what? [Be more specific, musician who's name escapes him.]

[The clone drops his hand to instead tap a finger to his chin. He dramatically opens his mouth and shuts it with an annoyed scoff, as if he can't find the right words for the highly ignorant display in front of him.]

Hmm... Does your kind all act like unrefined children?

No? [He shrugs, and pouts an annoyed little pout.] ...I don't know, they might.

[And he resumes his idle bouncing of the tiger, a long leg kicking at the sand. He's trying his best to ignore here.]

It doesn't matter, anyway. People can act how they want. [As long as they act proper and just, that is.]

After work, he'd detoured to the shopping district to pick up some more clothes. Much as he hated to treat this like a long-term stay, he couldn't set aside practicality. There were necessities to be considered (and lots of the same black t-shirt were one of them) for the duration of their imprisonment here. What mattered, he reasoned, was that he didn't get too comfortable.

So coming across a man sitting on a park toy was almost surreal to Barnaby, because he knew before he even really looked who the man was. And on the tiger, of all things.

For a moment, he wondered if he shouldn't just continue on his way and leave the old man to it, whatever it was. But instead, somewhat against his better judgement, he found himself walking over to him, stopping a few steps away and folding his arms.

"You look ridiculous," he said, looking down at him. "Isn't that a little small for you?"

Kotetsu had thought of doing the same thing, even after a month he only had the outfit he had arrived in, a few scattered articles of clothing he picked up one day on a whim, and a pair of pants to wear to bed. He hadn't gone for a real shopping trip yet though, as he didn't think that he'd have been there as long as he had been. An entire month, it was still something he couldn't yet wrap his mind around. He didn't want to think about it.

At this rate, he'd have to go and purchase a mask. If anything like that crazy mob happened again, he'd have to be able to use his powers and still keep his identity hidden. It only made sense to him to conceal his identity even in a place where Wild Tiger had no celebrity status, it was what he always did and he'll continue to do it ( ... )

"Children use them all the time," he corrected, supposing it was befitting. For all Kotetsu was getting on in years, for all he was old fashioned, he could still be remarkably childish. Which was a bit rich coming from Barnaby, to say the least, not that he was thinking along those lines. Tutting, he rolled his eyes, long-suffering wherever his partner was concerned.

He watched Kotetsu pat the one alongside him with disbelief apparent on his face, as if Kotetsu had just proposed something absolutely proposterous. To Barnaby, that was an accurate way to put it. Scowling, he glared at him. "You've got to be kidding me." A rabbit, of all things. He was almost certain the old man had planned this.

"Details, details," he quickly offered in response to that, simple and straight forward. Children use them, but no where on the toy does it say that it was restricted to them. Actually... it might've, now that he thought about it, but he wasn't about to check and prove his partner's point. He'd surely never hear the end of it, and he didn't want his trip to the park to end on that note.

And he hadn't planned it, it was mere coincidence. Of all the parks for him to visit that day, it had to be the one with the tiger and the bunny. It was perfect placement, but he still hadn't registered the irony. His mind was on other things, and he patted the toy once more. "I'm being serious," he answered with a determined frown."You're not really going to stand there the whole time, are you?"
