He was standing near the shore of the lake, unusually tranquil. With no one pursuing him for the time being, he found little need to conceal himself. The surface of the calm lake did strange things for his nerves, quieting his one wrathful soul.
The plop of a metal object in the water disturbed his quiet, and he shifted an eye towards the one who had thrown it.
"Daisuke Jigen," he addressed the younger man, acknowledging him. He did not express relief at the gunman's sudden re-appearance in Somarium--nor anything at all, save for a a crack of a smirk. "Your home is an absolute wreck."
Well, just when Jigen thought his day couldn't get 'worst'.
Sure enough he didn't even bother checking if Wrath was still around or not. It would be a relief if he wasn't, but then again, said relief wasn't going to make him feel any better.
"Well, the good news just keep on coming, don't they?" Jigen snapped at the older man, not even looking at him. He just kept watching the lake, wondering what the hell he was going to do next. It wasn't like he had an objective or anything. He kind of had one before, but now, with pretty much everyone missing, he had no idea what he was going to do with his life there.
"You seem rather lost without your friends," he remarked, noting the gunman's aloof reaction to him. The latter was rather distraught. The warrior--and the thief, they had both left Somarium, as was his understanding.
If those two morons were the only ones missing from Som, he would be OK with that. At least he wouldn't have to worry about them - sure that he didn't exactly need to worry, since both were more than capable of taking care of themselves, but he couldn't help it.
But, well, Wrath knew nothing about his relationship with Ema, and Jigen intended to keep things like that. He already knew a little bit too much about his life.
"Did you just come here to make things even more miserable or do you have something important to say?" Because, honestly, the gunman wasn't in the mood to 'chit chat'.
"I find your harshness unnecessary," Wrath commented on the gunman's unusually abrasive mood. Treating him as if he was his enemy. He was certain that they had not renewed hostilities since last time. But, if the gunman wanted confrontation, he would give it to him.
Wait... since when they were friends? Jigen certainly didn't get that memo! Just because they weren't trying to get each other anymore that didn't mean they had a good relationship going on.
"Look, today just... isn't a very good day, OK? I just got thrown into this place against my will, again, and I'm really not in the mood to deal with you right now." He said bitterly, holding back the urge to shoot Wrath, even if that ended up being useless.
"Not in the mood, you say?" his inquiry was terse. "All of your friends are gone, so you find your solace in brooding by the lake? That is not conventional for a human, is it?" It's uncertain if he was showing an interest in Jigen's well-being or just taunting him.
"You really don't know much about humans, do you?" Jigen commented, lying back on the grassy ground, covering his eyes with his hat and putting his hands behind his head.
"It's not that common for me to worry about losing people. I mean, it's not the first time this happened. But I think it's fairly common among other people." The gunman said with a shrug. He didn't know why he was bothering explaining Wrath about all that, but he imagined that there was no harm to it.
Jigen didn't know if Wrath was making an effort to know about human behavior a little bit better, or if he was just poking into his life like usual. He wanted to believe it was the first option.
"It's not like I don't have attachments. Is just that it shouldn't make any difference if they are here or not." That's some bullshit right there, but he wasn't going to openly say he was missing people or that he was genuinely sad about their absence.
"Well, it is." Jigen said, perceiving how much of an insensitive bastard he sounded by saying that. He just shrugged though.
"But I guess that I should be used to people's absence more than anyone." Like, not really the first time people disappeared on him, so now he was realizing that he really shouldn't have throw that little fit back there.
Well, too late to try and undo that. Goos thing Wrath thought that the source of his anger was Lupin and Goemon's absence and knew nothing about Ema. Would save him from a whole lot of trouble.
"Don't go getting the wrong idea. I might be a little bit bothered, but I'll get over it soon enough." Right now, he was a lot less furious than he was a couple of minutes before. He was still pretty frustrated, but that was an emotional he could a handle a lot easier.
Jigen couldn't help but kind of look at Wrath from behind his hat, kind of expecting him to say something. After all, it wasn't like him to just shut up like that and stop bothering him about stupid stuff. He was expecting him to ask him at least five more questions or something equally annoying.
But, if he was going to be quiet, good enough for him. Saved him the trouble to find a way to dodge said questions.

"Then you don't have human attachments," he concluded. "If so, why are you less than agreeable, hmm?"

"That is contradictory. If you're attached to someone, that would mean that their absence bothers you. Isn't that how it works?"

"But not enough to not be bothered by the fact that they are gone."
