[Asbel watched the broadcast alright, there's no way he was just going to hide though. People were getting hurt and he couldn't just leave them like that, he had to help protect them!

He rushes to Somni, sword at his side. He glances at a parent and child being attacked and rushes to aid them, kicking the possessed citizens aside. Asbel immediately follows that up by knocking them further by with swipe of his sheathed sword. He takes a short moment to put his sword back in its normal position before-]

I'm Asbel Lhant. If you truly wish to fight then come at me!

[Saying that definitely got the attention of a few other mobs, but that in return allowed time for the two he helped to escape. With that, he carefully stares at the large group of possessed people, waiting for the perfect moment to strike]

[Jade couldn't risk using too many fonic artes with so many civilians around, but a mob such as the one Asbel had gathered was too good an opportunity to waste.]

O flames of hell, cremate my enemies in a cage of fire. Infernal Prison!

[A giant pillar of flame bursts out of the ground right in the middle of the hostile mob, killing a few and sending those nearby into confusion. Normally, Jade didn't kill civilians, but these were hardly normal circumstances.]

[He was about to say more but cut himself off quick enough as he rushed towards him. Coming up behind Jade was a man with a bat looking to knock him down. However, Asbel got there in time, striking the possessed person with his sheathed sword, knocking him into a wall. The force itself was enough to make the man unconscious. A small moment looking at the man and back at the chaos around him]

What could be making them act like this...

[Without a moment's hesitation, he runs his spear through the unconscious man's throat then quickly dispatches another one with a quick jab into her chest.]

It is the new moon. Bad things usually happen around now.

I see... I'm still rather new so I don't know much but is killing them really necessary? If they're being controlled somehow then it's not their fault they're doing this.

I've tried seeing if knocking them unconscious would snap them out of this spell. When they awoke, they were as determined to subdue me as ever.

[Dodging a rather clumsy blow before running the attacker through.]

Besides, there seems to be no end to them and I don't quite see the logic in allowing them to kill us and not retaliate. Additionally, people return to live after awhile if they're killed in Somarium. I don't see why it should be different for the natives.

Yes, it surprised me too when I learnt it. Are you new to Somarium? People tend to mention it quite soon into your stay.

[Now that all immediate threats around Jade have been disposed of, he backs away slightly from where Asbel is fighting and starts to cast again, focusing on the center of the regrouping mob.]

Yes, and this is the first I've heard of it.

[Asbel continues to dodge to attacks with ease and notices Jade casting something. With that, he worked at gathering more people for the attack, jumping back and to the side to remain at a safe distance as he drew their attention to him]

Arise, o violent waters, to rout mine enemies. Blessed Drops!

[Large bubbles of water drop down onto the crowd, drowning some. He looks at Asbel, already preparing another spell.]

[Sora jumped and fought off the enemies that were by Asbel, taking them out.]

Come on! [Sora fought off most of them as even more began to arrive.]

[Asbel joined the fray, fighting off some of the nearby ones with his sheathed sword. He took the opportunity to kick one back, onto the others before it and grabbed the hilt of his sword]

Demon Fang!

[A light almost seemed to come from his sword as he drew it. The attack managed to take out a couple of people thankfully.]

Fire! [Sora shot fire from his keyblade to their enemies. While Asbel took care of the ones in front of him, Sora's back faced Asbel's in fighting the ones behind him.]
