[have a rather irritated and unfamiliar bespectacled young man looking at your screen.]

After all these days, weeks, months, years-and this is how much Dream Energy you people came up with? It's a miracle the barrier is still up! Even that still has that huge, gaping hole in it. Haven't those ( Read more... )

[This guy has probably been the most straighforward native of Somarium he's ever seen as far as explaining how the world ticks anyway. It's also surprising to hear that their dreams are connected to the barrier.]

[The warning piques his interest and the will to offer help but that gets unceremoniously shoved to the side by the request about dreams]

How are we supposed to dream anything except bad dreams? We don't have control over them after all.

[Oh how he wishes he did. A few nights without the specter of the 14th or death by Komui or Komurin would be nice.]

You guys don't have complete control, but it's not hard to learn.

All you have to is just think of what you want to dream about it, and you'll have a higher chance that your dream will be influenced by it.

[Okay that sounds almost too good to be true. Too bad he's ignoring that given the 14th's issue is the most pressing one on his mind, it's no wonder he dreams about that damned Noah all the time.]

Just like that? So if I were to think of say, a feast, decked to the brim with exotic foods and dishes, there would be a chance that I would dream something related to that?

...Yeah, sure.

[He's used to funny looks when it comes to him and Food.]

How...convenient.

[That's when an idea strikes him. Since this guy is in the know.]

Aside from that there is one thing I wanted to ask an expert in Somarium. During some tunnel exploration we came across some kind of computer in the tunnels and it showed a map of the city as well as one spot of interest on the floating mountain.

Oh, that thing? I'm surprised it's still running. What about it?

[Nonchalant about something that has that kind of security around it aren't we?]

There were warnings on the map and like I mentioned a location at the base of the floating mountain. There was no translator at the time so the meaning of those warnings remained a mystery

That's probably for the best, don't you think?

Here, I can tell you this much. Floating mountains aren't cheap to come by, so just make sure it doesn't get wrecked. If it crashes, we're talking about a huge death toll.

...why is something with that kind power over the mountain just lying around in a wide open tunnel then?

[cause he'd rather that thing was safe and sound where no one can get to it.]

No, not the computer. I meant the mountain. Records show that it's already been targeted before.

The computer itself has its own back-up and security systems that not even the best hacker can get into. And if that thing is damaged physically, there's no real problem. As long as data is safe, you can replace that thing anytime.

It has. First the Black ice and then the Yeti.

[Well there went one idea. The hacking that is.]

Replace a lone computer inside a tunnel? I guess I've seen stranger things than that since coming here.

Like I said, I'm surprised that thing is still around. Old technology can be pretty sturdy, I guess.

For a group that wants to keep this secret they are certainly sloppy or harbor a big case of wishful thinking. With all of these different worlds getting sent here, it's only a matter of time before someone who can crack that protection, arrives.

[he would be more than happy to agree.]

It's not impossible, just highly improbable. That system is one of a kind, even with all the multiuniverses floating around.

[Huzzah a point they can both agree on]

Never say never.

[He decides to drop that topic for now and changes instead to another.]

You say our dreams influence the barrier and in some ways keep somarium running. What about Somarium influencing our dreams?

[That dream or maybe it would be more apt to call it a vision of the one known as the Overlord. He was still very much puzzled by that.]

Again, not impossible, but it could happen. Chances are pretty slim, though. It wouldn't be Somarium itself influencing your dreams, but something else.
