[have a rather irritated and unfamiliar bespectacled young man looking at your screen.]

After all these days, weeks, months, years-and this is how much Dream Energy you people came up with? It's a miracle the barrier is still up! Even that still has that huge, gaping hole in it. Haven't those ( Read more... )

Finally, something that's fucking useful.

[And he is careful to take mental note of everything said in the original post, and will keep an eye on the rest of the comments as well. Omnomnom, information.]

What kind of 'basics' of this city have been mistakenly kept as classified?

That it runs on dream energy? And that we actually need a lot of it to keep this place running like it has?

That's a big one. It's like not mentioning that the building has running water and electricity.

And there weren't enough people here to dream already - they had to bring in us 'foreigners'? Or do the 'natives' just not dream?

It's complicated. Let's just say under normal circumstances it wouldn't really matter.

Just complicated, or is it classified?

[audio] somghostnpc July 21 2011, 00:50:41 UTC
Both.

Then just say that next time instead of giving me that political brush-off bullshit.

[Irritated irritated irritated. Mostly because he hates not knowing.]

Tch. Anyway, what sort of threat do those nycteren fuckers pose and is there an efficient way to kill or incapacitate them?

I would think saying it's "complicated" would give you a good enough idea. But I'll keep in mind that I need to spell things out in simpler terms for you.

They're not that hard to kill, really. If you know how to fight, just go for the standard vitals and boom, they're gone. Just think of them as feral animals with sharper teeth, claws, and an actual brain for stealth attacks.

Their weakest point is the purple crystal that's usually on their head, but can be sometimes be somewhere else. Break that and they're dust. Literally. But it comes with a price. Expect to experience one of your worst nightmares for a few seconds.

...You know, you do have the information at your disposal. It's in the Records folder of your Dreamberry.

"Complicated" just means I'd have to inquire further, and with more specific questions. The only ones who used it in lieu of 'classified' were PRs and politicians, not military personnel, though it might be different for military personnel in this retarded shit hole.

And no, I didn't know. [He takes note of it] Nobody here tells any of the 'new people' anything worth knowing.

Oops, sorry. I'm not exactly "military." I just have to work with them. By the way, if you want answers, I'd reconsider how I talked if I were you.

Not my problem. I don't even do liaison work. I'd rather deal with numbers on a screen than handling people.

[He'd figured that much already from what the guy's been saying so far. It perks him up a bit, knowing that despite how shitty he's feeling he's still not entirely fucked.]

Chances are the answers I'd want would be classified anyway. And I'm abrasive in my best of moods, so considering I've been stabbed and then kidnapped, how I'm talking right now is right on par with the fucking Pope.

[A snort.] At least I can't blame you for that one.

Never know until you ask.

Oh, and that's a relief. Wouldn't want to be blamed for something I didn't even do.

Just to make sure, Dream Energy is what keeps the barrier functioning, correct? And Dream Energy is taken from our dreams - though considering how fucking adamant you are that we not have any bad dreams, I figure it's safe to assume that only 'good' dreams provide enough energy to run whatever the fuck needs to be run, right?

Additionally, the records say that the nycteren grow in power during the new moon - does this mean their strength caps out the first day of the new moon, or does it mean they will continue to get stronger and stronger each day for the entire period?

Not even gonna bother asking about those nycteren corpses being taken to the Industrial District, since any info about the military experimenting on those purple crystals would be classified.

[This is the kind of shit he lives for, aw yeah.]

Yes, probably grow a bit but they'll cap out eventually, and good choice because hell if I know.

[A quick check up on the other threads tells him what he needs to about the Dream Energy questions he had.]

Tch. Guess we'll find out what the hell they've been up to when they fuck it all up.
