I was half paying attention to the debate when something Mr. McCain said caught my attention.
John McCain caught my attention by making a short speech indicating his support for the Troops-To-Teachers Act.
Oh god, what the fuck?! I know he wants to show his support for veterans, but how the hell does fighting in a war qualify you to teach anything? HURR HURR veterans shouldn't have to go through teacher certification becuz they had a hard life HURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Maybe if you are a specialist or an officer but to me, it doesn't look like this program is focused on this. This act places the responsibility for the effectiveness of these veteran-teachers on the school's administration, not on the teacher. What the hell, this stuff shouldn't be left to school administrators, it should be left to the institutions specifically dedicated to teacher education and certification.

I think I pissed him off by mentioning it was too late to impeach Bush. It's too late to do much of anything about Bush, yet he was going on about how bad Bush's policies are. Yay for hindsight. Get off my lawn!
