Rosemary:

*Pause* So, so, sorry, as Ian gracefully put it, to go for an infrequent, yet casual checkup on LJ to find you amongst ashes. Damn. I would have responded earlier, but we did not have internet for two weeks (again). This is the first I hear about your disaster, and I am greatly relieved to know that you, Irie and Livia got out under the wire. You mean the most. Honestly. To think that you may have been sleeping, to think that the difference between three and five seconds must never have been so palpable, to know you are all right....this and more constantly circles my brain as I write this. Wow. Having just suffered the injustice at customs, perhaps this is another situation that royally, royally blows but from which, in your resilient and snarky manner, you will bounce back and tell stories about. The new pad sounds great (fuck Cap Hill) and I hope it will be, as you said, healing in the long run. Taquerias and misplaced Polynesian hairdressers beat out hipsters and empty Broadway storefronts any day. En plus, you get to live with Livia, and that's pretty hot.

Anyhow, I love you and if you need anything, I will try my best to provide it. Even if that something is the unlikely combo of Italian lady impressions and an Indian ear.

Condolences and hugs,
kris
