so livia and i are moving into our new apartment on beacon hill in about a week. on friday we are finishing up all of the paperwork, which means i have to get cracking on getting into the western wa university social work program. anyway-- the apartment is HUGE and has a full panoramic view of the industrial area, and the puget sound and the towering olympic mountains. it is fucking beautiful. we can see the view through the bay windows in the family room... the large windows in the kitchen... as well as from the SHOWER!!! and the windows that take up half a wall in our bedroom. it is fucking gorgeous. and i feel lucky to have it-- and understand that although there are no karmic forces at work here, or fate or any stupid shit like that-- it is all for the best, and maybe it was a good thing that my building burned down. out with the old and in with this new, fresh and weird start.
the apartment is hot because it is in the center of a neighborhood filled with mexican-american immigrants... so as livia said, "there are no creepy whiteys lurking around our sidewalks. and we can just listen to the people speak spanish and have no clue what they are saying. and it is just great." exactly! fuck capitol hill and all of it's whiteys!! along with these mexican-american citizens come small taquerias in every other building, and a misplaced polynesian hair salon. our apartment is right of the columbian way exit, near spokane street, and we are just a few minutes away from jace-pace and my work and livia's school. it is just fantastic. i think the space will be wonderful for me to heal in, and i am looking forward to seeing all of livia's mystery stuff (because i haven't been allowed inside of her parent's house.) hopefully it will not cause us to break up. (joke!)
anyway, besides my honky galavantings with my chinky girlfriend, i have been dreading my operation (that will be through a two inch cut in my vagina by the way) and sleeping as much as possible, and trying to catch up on school, and trying to collect my things that i salvaged from the el mondo building. oh, and i saw blonde redhead (with interpol) and they were fucking amazing! they are very rock and roll, and i was extremely impressed and overwhelmed. also, the new mars volta song makes me die forty-infinity times. (as if i didn't already die in a fire and at the hands of my strong, welding and weilding-fists girlfriend.)
kris and ian, i really really do miss you both. and i'm sorry that i can't communicate with you right now.
