I want to be excited
Last Thursday I interviewed and have unofficially received a summer job working for the school district doing bus detail work.
Bus detail work = things that need to be done for the annual school bus inspection (fix seats, fix windows, check switches) that I can do while the trained techs do the real work.
But HR hasn't called yet to make the real offer and they don't have my I-9 documents so I'm trying to hold my excitement in check, just in case they don't really want me. The game shop Owencreature and I frequent may also have a job for me as a cashier/shop girl. They plan to call about that later this week.
In the space of the weekend I went from the uncertainty of continued unemployment to maybe tangible ways to work again. It would be overwhelming if I stop and think about it. I think I'll just keep puttering and not think for a few days longer.
