Character(s): Angus, Booker, Silence Content: Traveling circus Setting: on the road between the base and the fountain Warnings: more bardic exposition?
If this Booker was lying, he was doing it very well. Of course what he was saying was almost too fantastical to be believed, but that only added to the verisimilitude. Angus looked around at the oddities of the world as they walked and Booker talked. Then man was right about the clouds and light. Angus should have seen some movement of the light by now, but it remained the sodden unfocused red glow infusing the very air.
When Booker glanced back, Angus was goggle-eyed. "You mean, I'm in a game on this Earth? Dweller, but that sounds perverse!" Angus shook his head clear and resumed walking. He grinned Booker's way. "No wonder we make your head hurt, especially if this Earth does not deal in magic."
A thought struck him. "You mentioned this mage, Nei'eth or some such, who was mapping. Does this mean you are exploring this place to find a way home?" Angus tried to curb his eager enthusiasm, but failed. "That sounds like it would be fun," Angus sputtered a little, "I mean, like a good idea." The grin turned a bit abashed. "It certainly is right up my alley."
