Setting: The fountain, on the road, and back

Outside, Ani gave a big stretch, then started warming up. One did not run on cold muscles, the same way one did not run on an empty stomach.
Lessa stood wagging her tail for a moment, then just sat down and watched him as though wondering what he thought he was doing when he had promised her a run.
Ani just laughed at her look. "I'm not a dog, honey, I can't just run like you can."
