The air shimmered slightly, then a woman appeared out of nowhere, standing in the middle of the stream that supplied the inhabitants of the library.
"Oh blood and damnation! Janis, this is NOT a 'quaint Victorian cafe', or whatever the hell you called it!"
Firellia gestured her hand slightly, and a glowing screen made of nothing but light appeared in front of her right hand. She touched a few buttons on the interface display. Then paused, confused, and tried pressing them again. And again, when that did not work as she expected either.
"What the bloody hell is going on?!? Don't tell me she stranded me in a restricted world this time! I swore I'd kill her the next time she did this! Why can't that girl stop playing these tricks on me?!!"
Firellia rubbed her eyes, then stopped as she felt something she did not expect. There was a hard lump in the way, in a most inappropriate location. Under her stylish red and yellow jacket, under the gauzy shirt she wore below that, and distressingly under the corset she wore and right under her right breast was a rectangular box that felt cool against her skin. She fetched it out, a blush creeping across her face as she did so. It looked like a physical version of her interface display, a screen inset into a box of some strange black material, with buttons below that. Perhaps this was what she was supposed to use instead? That had never happened in any of the micro-worlds she and her friends visited in their spare time... She started to get lost in thought, considering the possibilities, when something bumped against her foot. An unripe Gimafruit, floating in the stream.
And that's when Firellia noticed that SHE was in said stream as well, and what was more, her boots were soaked through.
Quickly climbing out of the stream, she finally started to pay attention to the world around her. The overcast red sky, the tall buildings all around, and their thoroughly decrepit status all suggested a post-apocalyptic theme for the world. The hides hanging on frames and the faintly glowing, smoking remains of a fire right by them suggested the place was inhabited. And- wait, was that a dragon?
