The sport we care about every four years
Yes, I'm still on a figure skating/Winter Olympics(!!) high. It's hard, ok. Johnny Weir has a reality show, in which he is fierce, determined, and more than capable of laughing at himself. Being the biased person I am, I get a little wriggle of pleasure every time somebody mentions Yagudin (it has sadly only happened once though 'from small filthy bathtub in Newark, Delaware' which kind of makes up for it).
Also being the shameless person I am, I've been stalking the Olympic Games Kink Meme gleefully. Good writing trumps any pairing hangups (though the rule does not apply to JE because Kame does not deserve to be left out. EVER). Favorites so far:
- Other things may change (Apolo/JR, Speed Skating RPF) - Apolo comes back a week later with a lot more baggage than he left with. Or: Apolo adopts a kid, J.R. reluctantly learns to be a parent, and even kids know that adults suck at feelings.
- In Which Apolo Doesn't Win a Gold Medal - Johnny frowned and touched his chin. "What's this thing?"/"It's kind of my trademark"/ "Even Pepsi changes their trademark once in a while."
- Untitled AMAZING fic with references to physics (Apolo/JR, Speed Skating RPF) ♥ - It happens slowly, is the thing. It happens so slowly that neither of them see it at all, and then suddenly, it's all happened at once.
- Transatlantic or: a month of jr celski's life in music (Apolo/JR, Speed Skating RPF) - I don't wanna write this down, I wanna tell you how I feel right now. Tomorrow may never come. For you and me, life is not promised.
- Multifilm (Evgeni Plushenko/Johnny Weir, Figure Skating RPF) - One evening, Evgeni joins Johnny for a bit of childhood nostalgia.
