I should be packing now...
Since I'm heading back to Montreal tomorrow.... here's what I did this summer:
-failed miserably at finding a job (but came very close to getting some really cool ones)
-volunteered at the Barry's Bay triathlon! (and spent a week there at my grandma's)
-spent an entire week at the Ottawa Jazz Festival (waiting to see Sonny Rollins for 6 hours, jam sessions til 2 am, and so many awesome musicians: Benny Golson, Hugh Fraser, Terence Blanchard...)
-met Michael Buble and his band (twice) and hung out in Montreal
-went to the Montreal Jazz Festival for the first time and saw Path Methany
-hiked the Algonquin Highlands backpacking trail with Karina, Jessie R-S, and Annie (and found out what happens when you throw some Captain Morgan in the campfire)
-took my dad and brother camping for the first time 2 weeks later (woke up on the last day to hear bear "grunting" noises outside the tent, panicked, then found out it was actually dragonflies beating their wings very loudly)
-stream assessment with the City of Ottawa stream watch program (used waders for the first time, learnt how to seine net, and managed to only fall into the stream once)
-spent days and days painting the back porch of my house (yay self-employment) and never finished
Those were the shortest and longest 4 months of my life.
