[Maia's spent the past week or so holed up in her room, only bothering to venture out when she needed food or drink. She had been feeling...tense.
Those words she had heard on the top deck in the previous week were still quite fresh in her mind--You were supposed to help Gol. You were supposed to take care of him, Maia--and since then, Maia has

He's off to the library right now, though he hasn't yet reached the place. There's a spring in his step that tells all about his mood. He hasn't yet noticed Maia.]

Awfully cheerful, aren't you?

I assure you, it had nothing to do with you.

They're his friends, they're good people. But as far as they're concerned, he's still a traitor, a liability, and an emotionally unstable Eco Freak.
Okay so maybe they're not totally wrong on that last one.
But it's frustrating to keep doing this again and again, watching friends leave and having them come back without a hint of their old memories. He didn't even understand how this worked, but it pissed him off anyway.
Despite his promises to Daxter, he sneaked out when the ottsel was asleep. A towel slung around his neck, dressed in loose pants and a grey sleeveless shirt, he'd spent some time beating up equipment in the gym. Now, damp with sweat, out of breath and fully into the workout routine he'd devised, he takes out his anger and frustration on a punching bag, completely oblivious to anything else around him.]

She freezes shortly after entering, though...there's someone else in here, and there's something very familiar about him. First is the hair and the relatively short stature...she smirks to herself. Good things really do come to those who wait.

He's actually completely healed, safe for a nice chunk torn out of his ear.
Jinx really wasn't expecting to happen upon Maia on his little field trip, and he really wasn't expecting her to look so fumed. He picks up his pace and walks at a nice safe distance from her side. Not that he's actually scared or anything, but his eyes do show that he's holding back just a bit.]

He still reeks, just not of alcohol, this time. Of course, Maia's fairly sure that this won't last.
...nn. She doesn't normally like to drink, but when one has a hangover, it's a lot easier to focus on that instead of bad memories.]
If you're going to a bar, then I'm going with you. I could use a drinking partner, anyway.

But a drinking buddy's a drinking buddy--Maia will have to do for now. Jinx doesn't even mind her two toned face, creepy helmet, and just generally pissed off look.]
Just where I was headin'.
[He makes his way to the elevator, then hits a button.]
What's eatin' you?

It is a personal matter. [And that's all you'll be getting out of her in that regard, Jinx.]
