Astrology reading for 1 August 2010

First, Happy Lughnasadh to those in the Northern Hemisphere, and Happy Imbolc to those in the Southern.  :)

I thought it would be nice to share a talent of mine with you and read the Lughnasadh sky.  (I tend to celebrate the High Holy days on the 1st.  Not much except the Moon's position will change by the 2nd.)

Sun in Leo:  the Sun is at home in Leo.  This is his place, as the hot weather will tell.  This position is the same each year at this time, since we use a solar calendar.  It's a good time to be sunny.  Take precautions;  the Sun brings both healing and disease.

Moon in Aries:  Aries is the first sign of zodiac.  The Moon, which likes to be comfortable and safe, is NOT comfortable in Aries.  Aries Moon is restless and can be aggressive.  It picks fights when it cannot act and tries to make its people safe by making them ready for war.  Aries Moon can be a good time to start a new project, especially if it's a project that will use up a lot of energy.  Aries has a lot of energy!  (Moon will move into comfy home Taurus by Monday.)

Mercury in Virgo:  Mercury is at home in Virgo.  He likes things tidy, factual, and healthy.  If you'd like to improve your health, Mercury in Virgo is ideal.  You'll probably find that people are more exacting and communications are efficient during this time.  It's a great time to analyze things or pick apart something that has puzzled you.

Venus in Virgo:  Venus, unlike Mercury, isn't happy in Virgo.  Venus is (or wants to be) rich and creative, but Virgo is careful and rationed.  So this Lughnasadh, you might find that your creativity runs more in a practical or health-oriented vein.  Could be a good time to make a change to your diet or habits, a change that perhaps you've already been considering.

Mars conjunct Saturn in Libra:  Mars in Libra is tamed.  He turns his energies from fighting to balancing, and becomes a perfect gentleman.  With Saturn, who is exalted in Libra, alongside Mars, we have an energy that makes for excellent taste and judgement.  Quite smart indeed.

Except that, of course, none of this is happening in a vacuum.

Directly opposite Mars/Saturn in the sky is Jupiter conjunct Uranus.  These pair of jokers are up for a good time and they're feeling rather rowdy in the sign of Aries.  They are in a tug-of-war with Mars/Saturn and will probably overturn the punchbowl, tell bawdy jokes and stay up late hitting golf balls into the neighbor's yard.  Or they would, if that lovely gentleman Mars/Saturn wasn't there to turn the bunch onto a game of bridge.

We have collectively entered the Age of Aquarius, and Uranus rules or influences that sign.  Uranus just arrived in Aries the beginning of June, and before that had been in Pisces since January 2004.  (He had visited Pisces between March and September 2003 as well.)  He will stay in Aries until May 2018.

Uranus breaks rules.  He likes to experiment.  He's steady and constant, but always changing.  He is the weather.  Constant change.  He is also a big-picture guy who sees the effects of humanity at large.

It is likely that the weather effects of human-influenced climate change will become more violent while Uranus is in Aries.  Not that Pisces can't throw a good storm, but Aries has more short-term energy and, as mentioned earlier, likes to pick a fight.

But no one loves to champion the little guy more than Aries.  This could be the period of time when influential people come to understand why it's important sometimes to make things better for the masses.

Anyway, that's what I see for tomorrow's holiday.  :)  I hope it's helpful.  Blessed be!

Kitti
