So Elizabeth does not want the house; my mom is pissed, understandably so. Particularly because when my mother told her how much our house was worth, she seemed like she wouldn't be able to afford that much. 1. We've only had one person see it, so we're certainly not lowering it right off the bat.

2. You do not start with a lower price because you have to have leeway to knock it down WRT things that need fixing. For example, our driveway needs to be repaired, but we are not sinking several thousand into it if we're not staying here. So, this is where one makes negotiations.

3. If it comes to a last resort, we will have to use a realtor. YOu have to pay commission to a realtor. They usually want 5%, which is quite a bit of money, and the lower the price of the house is, obviously, the less you walk away with.

all of those things have to be considered, you know?

Hell, not just in my area, but other places as well. I work in real estate; I put listing in the computer on a Monday, and sometimes the house has at least five bids on it by Wednesday.
