State of the House

Apr 26, 2004 13:53

So Elizabeth does not want the house; my mom is pissed, understandably so. Particularly because when my mother told her how much our house was worth, she seemed like she wouldn't be able to afford that much. Now, she has her sights set on another house that is on the market for 70k MORE than ours. The people in Elizabeth's office have brainwashed her into thinking that Bergen County is much better. It's unfortunate.

So is the fact that the other two people that were going to come see the house will not be doing so. The real estate agent that works with my mother told Mom that she would have to go through the office and such; my mother said No, because we can't go saying anything yet. This woman, Pat, fears losing her license, so we're back to square one.

We purchased ads in the all the papers for this week. We are being cautious; serious inquiries only, and before prospective buyers even set foot in this house, they have to have a paper stating that they are prequalified for a mortgage.

Keep your fingers, toes, legs, whatever other appendages you can cross, crossed. Please. We have five weeks to do this.
