Thought of the Day:At what point does it become unhealthy to make friendships with other people online? When does it become damaging? If you start to value "online friends" more than "real life" friends, then what happens if an online friend suddenly drops off the face of the planet? Is it unhealthy to form a dependence upon the support and advice ( Read more... )

real life sucks anyway, !thought of the day

Lol @ you thinking American accents are cute - I think American accents are nonexistent. :)

BBM fandom omg lol I couldn't even make it through BBM. :/ I thought I was going to love it, but....I don't know...maybe it was because I tried to watch it at about three in the morning with my friend saying every two minutes, "It's about to get SO good." And if I tried to watch it now, I'd probably be sobbing over Heath Ledger not being here anymore. I adore the movie 10 Things I Hate About You and I'm still getting used to it again after he died. I love Heath SFM.

Woah, rambling. ANYway, meeting people who share your fandom sounds unbelievably amazingly awesome. I had the opportunity to spend the week over at my online friends' house during the summer, she lives a couple states away, but she was having a few people from our little circle over. We were going to have Buffy marathons and flail accordingly together, with maybe a margarita or two. But I ended up having to take a summer class, and it shot all of those plans to hell. It was so disappointing.

"I am me whether I am talking to you face to face or in front of a computer."

This really struck me. Whenever I'm in a pic post in ONTD_AI it feels so surreal, like "OMG these are real people." And, of COURSE I KNOW that they are ~real....it's kind of hard to explain. Like, I'm having so much fun getting to know someone, and all I see is their username and icon, and I don't really ever visualize the actual person. Whereas, normally when you meet people it's face-to-face and NOT online. I forget sometimes that the people I'm talking to online aren't 2-D, and that they do, in fact, exist beyond my computer screen and my mind. Like I said, it's really hard to explain without making me sound like a douche. :/ It's also partly me thinking, "these people are too amazing to be real," and then I see their picture, and I just...it feels weird. I can't....gah, I should get some sleep lol. <3

OMFG YOU LOVE HEATH SFM TOO? Heh. That's apparently why I am destined to be on your flist. I adored Heath - omg last Feb - the worstest. I haven't been able to watch the movie again in 3 years but I liked reading the happy ending stuff.

And I know what you mean by the username icon thing. Once you meet the person tho, it all seems to fall into place. LOL

I was pissed because Heath was so GROSSLY underrated for the longest time, and then suddenly Dark Knight comes along and everyone was all, "LIKE OMGGG HE IS SOOOO AMAZING," and I just rolled my eyes and said, "Fuck off, you didn't realize this before?" it irritated me lol.
