Walking to work today was brightened by a beautiful sunrise. I had to stop a few times and stare in awe at it.
The sky started as a dark grey backdrop with an upside down sea of deep orange fire expanding out from the horizon. It bathed the changing leaves in light and made them glow an indescribable tint of gold.
As the orange expanded quickly into a band like an exploding phoenix over a churning cloudy sea, a brilliant pure gold followed it brightening the environment considerably. The yellow leaves resonated with it and almost turned white in its luninescent purity.
The golden band was followed by a yellow like a molten lemon beaten with a spiked faerie wand.
The whole experience was inspiring and put a stupid grin on my face as I tried to repress a giggle.
It made the walk to work really really good.
Now the sun is high above the clouds and the grey has taken over. Soon it will rain but thinking of that sunrise still puts a stupid smile on my face.
