New year (Happy New Year, btw!!!), new layout! It's not really shiny, more... tranquil and BLUE. I really tried to make a not!blue layout for once but somehow the creative part of my brain refuses to come up with something decent in a colour that is not blue or black. Oh well. It's decent. And guess what? For once it's 90% compatible with IE! I say 90% because IE fucks up the width so that the content is broader than the header but it's just a minor nuisance. It also works with Opera but I have no idea whether it works in Chrome. Can anyone who uses (or at least has) Chrome can have a look? Not that I think that many Chrome users will visit my LJ anyway *cough*. Also, it is not anime/manga related. For some reason I can't find nice enough images for that. And I need a new default icon and one should think that I have enough blue icons for that but somehow nothing fits. Well, I've got another week of Christmas break so maybe I can even find the time to make one. I envy the people who can make great icons out of anything! *needs more talent in icon-making*
For me 2008 was a really shitty year and I'm really glad it's over. I'm planning some things for 2009 but I won't post any resolutions. I forget about them on Jan. 2 anyway XD. I need to a)study more so that I b)graduate with decent marks and c)lose about 5 to 10 kg. That's all. Can't be too hard to do, right? Particularly since the winter/spring anime season doesn't look interesting at all (-> more time for studying and less sitting in front of the computer, eating chocolate. In theory). But, yeah, I won't bore you with another I-hate-moe/pantsu-rant. But I do! The only thing to look really forward to is Natsume Yuujinchou season 2 and maybe the new anime adaption of some Itsuki Natsumi manga whose name I forgot. I don't even know when it starts, I just skimmed over the report in the most recent Lala. I just wonder... what is it about ancient Itsuki Natsumi series? Why do they get animated years and years after running in a relatively unknown shoujo magazine? (and, why Natsume Yuujinchou? Other Lala-series are much more popular. Not that I complain, because I LIKE Natsume, I just think it's strange)
That reminds me that I recently read that Kodansha has withdrawn all the licenses of Tokyopop Germany, apparently without reason O_o. I'm not reading any of their Kodansha series (after a quick, panicked look into the editorial I now know that anything Yuki Yoshihara is Shogakukan and Shinshi Doumei Cross is Shueisha) but particularly the readers of Jigoku Shoujo, School Rumble and Yamato Nadeshiko are understandably annoyed (although they could simply buy most of them in English but the German prices are still lower). I hope that this never ever happens with Shogakukan. Then I'd be pissed. Seriously.
