Aaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!
Yaoi Con is two weeks away, and I don't know how I'm going to get everything dooooone...~! T△T
- Homura's robe is finished, construction-wise. We've also got the necklace and chains covered (styrofoam chains, which I'm wary about, but, uh, heavy-gauge real chain around other people and elaborate costumes/props, tables of merchandise, rabid fangirling, etc = NO). We still need to fashion some manacles out of the cheap leather belt we picked up for this purpose, and to do the flames and yin-yang... (Xpyne insists we should just pick up a couple of those awesomely uncool yin-yang patches you'd find poorly stitched to middle-schoolers' backpacks, but I'm resistant to this idea, FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. We may end up using vinyl.) We bought a silk screen and screen printing paint yesterday, and plan to try it out this weekend. Hopefully it will work fabulously, making the flame edging on Homura's kimono quick work easy not end up a disaster.
- Xpyne's costume is coming along. I had originally thought that only my costume and not hers was supposed to be "secret," but I was recently informed otherwise, so...I guess I'm supposed to be vague here, lol. The costume would probably be coming along more quickly if Xpyne could stand still for five minutes at a time for me to fit her. /)=_=;; The pants are done and look awesome (despite the steady string of insults I kept up in Xpyne's direction the whole week and a half it took to get them right, and despite my stubborn rejection of jibii 's attempts to offer probably well-needed advice). The top is mostly sewn; I just need to stitch a separating zipper into the front, attach the lower-arm gauntlets to the upper-arms to complete the sleeves, and then add the trim along the collar and zipper. Don't even talk to me about the loin-girder. <-- lololol, wut??? It's, like, the same argument we had with the pants, all over again.
- Littlest Sister and her friend want to dress up as Natsuo and Yoji from Loveless. I'm fine with this, because it means the only thing I have to sew for them are the little sailor-style tops, but it's still more sewing for me. sdfghnbv Xpyne claims she's going to make them ears and tails, but this remains to be seen. >:T At least both of their wigs have come in, and will need minimal styling.
- Also, don't even talk to me about my Sanzo costume. ಠ_ಠ I'll still probably be able to sew it in time, but as a somewhat simplified version of our original crazy idea. <-- this = BOO Worst case scenario, I've got my usual Sanzo costume as a fall-back. I imagine I'd sort of fade into the background, compared to Xpyne's new costume (LOL), but I really don't mind because she's much more of an attention-whore than I'll ever be, and it will still be my craftmanship that's getting the notice. :B
- Also also, don't even talk to me about Xpyne and everything she is supposed to somehow find time to do in the one week between the end of her quarter at school and the con. dskdfwrtyjkj Between kitty ears and tails and boot covers and armor and folding fans of doom and a new diadem for Goku and flame detailing, I'm not going to be letting her get much sleep. ::whapish!::
- Lastly, Hakkai Lj's Rich Text Editor Hakkai is being a butt. I swear, his temperament post has been giving me more crap lately... But I think the issue with the tables has sorted itself out, and I can use the raw html to override Lj's tendency to fuck up the lj-cut function, so hopefully his post will be coming up soon(ish).
