Yes, that's right, I'm hosting a writing challenge this weekend. For any challenges I do in March I'll also include editing, as it *is*
National Novel Editing Month, which I'm participating in (and you should too!). The goal is flexible, you can make up your own (just let me know), but I'd suggest 5,000 words for writing or 5 hours for editing. If you find you have less time, or more time, on the weekend, feel free to adjust your goals. Just comment here and I'll change it when I can.
Comment to sign up, letting me know your word count/hour goal (or both if you like!). Feel free to pimp this on your journals; everyone is welcome. I'll put up a post Friday for people to use to discuss their writing, problems they're having, writing snippets. I will be going out Friday night, so I won't be around much that night to post updates but go ahead and comment and I'll update when I get back. I should be around most of the rest of the weekend though (I'd really like to start on EdMo and get some writing done. And get some downtime! I've been so busy).
I'll also start a
Chatzy chatroom for us (probably Saturday, unless someone else wants to start one earlier), and we do a lot of chatting on gmail chat. If you have a gmail address, comment here or email me at soleta_nf@livejournal.com. I'll send an email out Friday with everyone's contact info (so give it to me again even if you have before; I have no time to go searching for it).
I look forward to writing & editing with you guys! I always find this challenge a lot of fun. ^.^
(Oh, I guess I should say the actual rules: Start at 6 p.m. Friday local time, end midnight Sunday local time. Any genres accepted (including school assignments); and word count can be a total of any number of different writing projects. Basically, we try to be as liberal and accepting as possible. You know what your goals are; this is just a way to motivate yourself. ANY progress on your projects means you win and did a great job!)
