Studio 60: This show is on fire now! I can't see how anyone has any complaints anymore. The parts of the show they showed tonight were funny (and as
txvoodoo has pointed out,
the model SNL often isn't that funny to begin with). The New Orleans part made my cry. It was very sweet. The Matt/blondie kiss was funny, ESPECIALLY because it was more about Matt trying to push her away from (I guess her ex?) than it was out of any "No, seriously, let's get back together" intent.
The Danny/Jordan storyline was awesome. How on earth did the writers know I started shipping them at the end of last episode?? Brilliant! I LOVE LOVE LOVED the last scene where he approached her, laying things out (should I start doing that? Maybe I'd get more dates that way), and the absolutely stunned look on her face was priceless. But, really, what made the scene was Jordan's cheeks puffed out from the sandwich(?) she was eating to stave off the pregnant munchies. The scene was disarmingly adorable because not only was she taken aback, but she was caught at a really unflattering moment in such an intimate scene. Well done.
I liked the news controversy too, the ultimate point (that many people 'support the troops' but still don't want to see what's really going on; also, CENSORSHIP IS BAD) and it also made the network head more likeable for me. He's just come across as a bully thus far, and it made him more human to see him scrambling to try to solve a problem and then ultimately offer to resign to right it.
I love this show!
The Amazing Race: TAKE THAT, BITCHES! That reward was WELL worth waiting for. I loved how the other teams were trying to work together to make sure the beauty queens got Philiminated. And 'Bama got in second place! I am definitely rooting for them, though I don't like them as much as I did earlier in the season. I really don't like Karlyn that much. At least she apologized to Lyn, but man she was mean earlier. But all of my other favourites are gone, and it's either them (the first female team to ever make it to the final three EVER!!) or the models. I'll take 'Bama! I am enjoying rooting against teams better than for right now though. Now I will root for Rob & Kimberly to not win. Or at least not have kids. God, they are explosive together. They do seem to have progressed, so that's good, but this episode shows they have a LONG way to go together before considering marriage, or certainly exposing innocent young'uns to their screaming fits. Sheesh.
Gilmore Girls: Good for Luke! It's about time he stands up for himself. He and April are adorable.
I still love Chris and Lorelai. Chris would have a hard time fitting into Stars Hollow, and it makes sense that he would get a bit of a chilly welcome, because the towns people are not only loyal to Luke but, like Jackson, don't know if they can trust Chris to not hurt Lorelai. Hopefully after the knitting debacle he'll trust Lorelai more about what will and won't work in the town.
YAY PARIS AND DOYLE! It's so nice to see them back.
Where's Lane? :(
I just worked on my Christmas cards for
those of you who filled out my poll and they'll go out tomorrow. They should arrive at North American homes in time, and hopefully they'll make the cut for international post as well. Then tomorrow I'll work on my
holiday_wishes gifts. :)
I don't know if that's my seduction style (unless it's to say that I don't have one, which would be... *cough*), but many people would certainly agree that I am ridiculously cheery considering the fact that I haven't had a simple, easy life. But. It's either this or deep, dark depression, and I've have enough tastes of that to cling on to as much optimism as I can possibly hold. Surprisingly, it can often be a lot.
