Visiting and randomness

Jun 12, 2006 22:23

-Three weeks to Vienna/leaving Switzerland.
-Four weeks to coming home to Michigan (and flying into Detroit, which is about the most depressing thing ever after Europe)
-Five weeks to Bloomington

If I changed my Indiana visit from Monday-Monday to Sunday-Sunday, would people be more likely to be able/willing to give me rides to and from Indy? I hate being dependent upon people for rides, but given that the States has horrible public transit, I kind of have to be.

I've been having trouble sleeping lately. I don't like it.

Maja has orange and red self-inflicted marker-created polka dots on her belly.

Fresh, yard-picked strawberries are Teh Awesome.

Bern on Saturday was really nice. Pictures soon. Jung Institute in Zurich on Thursday, Basel (and Matisse exhibit) this weekend, Ticino (the Italian-speaking region) next weekend, and somewhere on July 1. (St Gallen? Grindelwald? Jungfrau Joch? Matterhorn? Freibourg? Somewhere in Graubünden? I've got a day card, I'm definitely going somewhere.)

I'm really enjoying The Time Traveller's Wife. However, the smatterings of German are atrocious and, usually, wrong. "Und so weiter," dammit!

I am no longer allowed in bookstores in case I buy more books (a double hit: both spending yet more money, and necessitating my bringing yet something else back with me). I'm trying to decide if this bars me from buying a good Langenscheidt German-English dictionary before I leave, since I am not satisfied with my Cassell's, and my Duden pocket dictionary is dumb. (Can you get Langenscheidt in the States?)

Off to bed.

german, books, travel
