  • Made A Drawing of Our Love, by dancinginthecenteroftheworld. Rated NC-17 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.

  • Man In The Black Cells (The), by Aviss. Rated NC-17 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea and Angela.
Author's summary: He might have been allowed to leave the map room but Jaime doesn't fool himself that his sister is letting him go. He's seen it on her face, the cold fury that he would defy her and dared to leave her; she had signed his death sentence then and there, even if it hasn't been carried out yet. Jaime leaves Cersei, but he never makes it to Winterfell. After the War for the Dawn, a wounded and heartbroken Brienne goes home to Tarth to recuperate.

NB: Please note that this fic is a modern AU.
  • more like the man you were meant to be, by janie_tangerine. Rated PG-13 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
(Author's summary) In which Robert, instead of keeping Jaime in King's Landing after the rebellion, sends him to Winterfell. Or, alternatively: in which Jaime gets to keep his oaths, gains both Ned's and Cat's respect and Jon Snow finds himself growing up with his own sworn sword. Or, even more alternatively: in which Brienne's father sends her to be a warden at Winterfell after she defies her last suitor and some things change and others stay the same.

  • More than a Memory, by Luthien. Rated NC-17 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea and Angela.

NB: More fic by this author can be found here.
  • Not Today, Renly, by angel_deux. PG-13 (Jaime/Brienne). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: Jaime has returned for the second All Stars season of Drag Them, Dayne: a Westerosi show that has turned the art of drag into a cultural phenomenon. His main goal is to make it through the show without tainting his legacy. Then they are assigned female athletes to "make over", and Jaime meets Brienne.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and in the current section (i.e., 'Game of Thrones' pages).
  • Now That You're Here, by Lady_in_Red. Rated R (Jaime/Brienne). Recommended by Bea.

  • One Moon Series, by Shareece (kimbob). NC-17 (Jaime/Brienne). Recommended by Bea.

NB: More fic by this author can be found here.
  • One Where Hyle and Jaime Are Roommates (The), by cardinalgirl75. Rated R (Jaime/Brienne). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: Hyle Hunt thinks he's the luckiest freshman at King's Landing University when he gets Jaime Lannister for a roommate. There's bound to be tons of hot girls hanging around him, right? Right????
NB: This is a modern AU.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here.
  • Only Love Can Set Us Free, by dancinginthecenteroftheworld. Rated NC-17 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
(Author's summary) What if Jaime were released from the Kingsguard after killing Aerys? And two fathers with difficult-to-betroth offspring come to an arrangement, between Kingslayer Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth, the ugliest maid in Westeros.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in the current (i.e. 'Game of Thrones') pages.
  • Opinions of Sheep (The), winterkill. Rated NC-17 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
(Author's summary) Before he returned to Tarth, her father placed his large, weathered hands on her shoulders. “They’ll try and discourage you,” he said, “but you’re my daughter, so you won’t let them succeed.”
Brienne of Tarth is the first girl to enroll in the King's Landing Knight Academy and, due to Tywin Lannister's influence, ends up Jaime Lannister's squire in an attempt to embarrass him into quitting the Kingsguard. It does not go as planned. A Tamora Pierce's Protector of the Small fusion.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here.
  • Pretty, by astolat. Rated NC-17 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: “Why not a hook, though?” Brienne said, and Jaime followed her gaze to the golden hand covering his stump. He paused, and she added, “It’s pretty, but it’s not much use, is it?"
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in the current (i.e. 'Game of Thrones') pages.
  • Pride, by astolat. Rated NC-17 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth, also Jaime Lannister/Cersei Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: Jaime didn’t understand why Cersei suddenly insisted on trimming his hair and shaving his beard, but he also didn’t care to fight her on it, even though he’d just as soon have kept the beard: it was bitterly cold in the small tower room with its arrow-slits. At night, even curled together under the two blankets they’d been allotted, it took the better part of an hour before their bodies could warm the bed enough to sleep.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in the current (i.e. 'Game of Thrones') pages.
Note: I would honestly NEVER have thought someone could write this and make it believable. (I'll admit this isn't my favorite 'pairing'.) This was just really, really well done though, and fair to all characters.
  • Prodigal Son (The), by Aviss. Rated G (Jaime/Brienne). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: Spring has finally come to The Seven Kingdoms, and the people in the Westerlands prepare to receive their Lord and Lady, who nobody knows but everyone is curious about.

NB: More fic by this author can be found here.
  • Right Question (The), by Aviss. Rated R (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea and Angela.
Author's summary: In which Ned asks the right questions at the right time, and Jaime keeps most of his vows. The important ones at least.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in the current (i.e. 'Game of Thrones') pages.
NB: PLEASE NOTE also that in order to read this fic you need to register at AO3 (free!).
  • Royal Flush, by astolast. NC-17 (Jaime/Brienne/Margaery, Tywin Lannister/Catelyn Stark, Robb Stark/Cersei Lannister). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: Robb Stark had swept his entire hand of cards off the table, and Tyrion couldn’t see how to make a single play at all.
Bea's note: This fic actually makes these non canon pairings work. Really well done.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in our 'Game of Thrones' pages.
  • Same Time, Next Year, by angelowl. Rated NC-17 (Jaime/Brienne). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: “I’m Jaime,” he says, his eyes gleaming with laughter. There’s a wicked edge to his mirth that makes Brienne wonder if it’s her freakishness that’s the butt of his joke so she spins on her heel and stiffly marches away. After that, Jaime inexplicably keeps seeking her out.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in our 'Game of Thrones' pages.
NB: PLEASE NOTE also that in order to read this fic you need to register at AO3 (free!).
  • Seduction (The), by ikkiM. Rated R (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
(Author's summary) Jaime Lannister was certain that the hulking blonde woman in Pinkmaiden 2B was trying to seduce him.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here.
NB: Please note that this fic is a modern AU.
  • Septa's Advice (A), by Currawong. Rated PG-13 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: Jaime Lannister never expected to survive the war, but sometimes the gods are kind. A gentle romance between two people who have travelled a long way together.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here.
  • she could almost be a knight, by renaissance. Rated PG-13 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea and Angela.
Author's summary: Brienne of Tarth, a girl who has dreamt of being a knight, has one chance to prove herself in a tourney. Ser Jaime Lannister has one tourney before he must retire to his ancestral home and take up the mantle of heir to his family fortune. But maybe there's a way for both of them to stop this fight from being their last...

  • Since We've No Place To Go, by virginfiber. PG/PG-13 (Jaime/Brienne). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: After Brienne Tarth drunkenly hooked up with one of her detestable coworkers, she didn’t think things could get any more awkward. That is, until they got snowed in together.
NB: Please note this is a modern AU.
  • Skin Deep, by Aviss. NC-17 (Jaime/Brienne). Recommended by Bea.
Brienne's boyfriend gives her an ultimatum.
NB: This is a modern AU. PLEASE NOTE also that in order to read this fic you need to register at AO3 (free!).

  • something good and right and real, by sameboots. Rated G (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
(Author's summary) Brienne Tarth suddenly finds herself with custody of her very young cousin, Podrick. As if things aren't overwhelming enough already, Podrick's preschool teacher, Jaime Lannister, is an excruciatingly handsome and kind man that Brienne really does not have time for. Unfortunately for her, you don't get to choose when That Someone comes into your life.
Pod adored Mr. Jaime. He talked about little else in the following weeks. Mr. Jaime did this, Mr. Jaime did that. Mr. Jaime was so funny. Mr. Jaime read the best stories. Brienne was a little sick of hearing about Mr. Jaime. It was bad enough that she couldn’t seem to control the flow of blood to her face (and, if she’s honest, to other parts of her body) every time she dropped off or picked up Pod. That she survived to the first parent-teacher conference without humiliating herself was a damned miracle. Still, she was unprepared to walk into the classroom and find Jaime bent over a sheet of notes, his hair falling over his forehead, and -- gods, a pair of glasses perched on his nose. Truly, the gods were cruel masters.

NB: Please note that this fic is a modern AU.
  • Taffy Stuck and Tongue Tied, by angelowl. Rated NC-17 (Jaime/Brienne). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: Margaery said Jaime was a selfish prick who needed to learn to share. Sansa, ever the romantic, insisted he was secretly in love with Brienne, not his longtime girlfriend Cersei, and that it was obvious. “If that were true, he’d have made a move long before now,” Brienne countered. “Jaime’s an open book. He’d shout it from the rooftops.”
“He probably doesn’t want to risk losing your friendship.” Sansa’s eyes shone with conviction.
Brienne scoffed, but in the days that followed doubts trickled in and something even more insidious - hope.
Bea's note: Please be aware that Jaime is a piece of work in this one...

NB: PLEASE NOTE also that in order to read this fic you need to register at AO3 (free!).
  • Take Me By Storm, by angelowl. Rated angelowl. PG/PG-13 (Jaime/Brienne). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: There were three types of gods. Capricious, vengeful, and benevolent. Brienne herself fell firmly into the last camp.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in our 'Game of Thrones' pages.
NB: PLEASE NOTE also that in order to read this fic you need to register at AO3 (free!).

Jaime challenges Brienne to a contest.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in our 'Game of Thrones' pages.
  • Tale As Old As Time, by BrienneofThrace. Rated PG-13 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea and Angela.
Author's summary: An AU inspired by Beauty and the Beast, where Jaime is the crippled and bitter Lord of Casterly Rock, wallowing in his own misery, until a stubborn and homely girl from Tarth shows up, demanding he release her captive father. When Brienne agrees to be a hostage of the Rock to ensure Selwyn's loyalty, she changes Jaime's life in ways he never could have imagined.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here.
  • there's a ghost in my lungs; it sings in my sleep, by nire. Rated R (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
(Author's summary) A prompt fill for Writer's Month 2019, day eleven: whump.
Jaime looked down at Tyrion’s crumpled, crying figure. When they’d been little and Cersei or Father had been cruel to Tyrion, there was no pride preventing Jaime from scooping his little brother up, cradling him to his chest. A little later, Tyrion learned to hide his tears with wit, and he no longer accepted Jaime’s offers for embrace. And now, Jaime had no body with which he could hold Tyrion. In fact, that was precisely the problem here: Jaime was dead, and Tyrion was mourning his body.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in the current (i.e. 'Game of Thrones') pages.
NB: Please be aware that this fic is lovely but it is also sad.
  • There Is But One Choice, by angelowl. Rated PG-13 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea and Angela.
Author's summary: “I promised Ser Jaime when it was done that I would show you the truth. Take my hand.”
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in the current (i.e. 'Game of Thrones') pages.
NB: PLEASE NOTE also that in order to read this fic you need to register at AO3 (free!).
  • They Make You Swear and Swear, by angelowl. Rated NC-17 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: It was with great sorrow Brienne accepted that she had not upheld her vows. She had done her best, but it hadn’t been enough. She had failed. Again. Just as she’d failed Jaime and Lady Catelyn and Renly before that. She heard Podrick desperately yelling for her release in her final moments and she cursed the fates for making him witness her execution.
Brienne closed her eyes and prayed one last time, not for forgiveness, but for justice. For the faintest hope that a worthier champion would come along and do what she couldn’t, set things right. The axe came down and she woke with a jolt.
Note: Contains interesting speculation for the end of the series and post-series.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in the current (i.e. 'Game of Thrones') pages.
  • This Is Why We Fight, by lashieldmaiden. Rated NC-17 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
From author's summary: “You’re sure.” Lady Sansa’s voice was quiet, and even. Whatever her inner thoughts were, she kept them well hidden beneath her pale eyes.
“Not sure, no.” Ser Brienne of Tarth stood in front of her, ramrod straight.
The Battle for King's Landing looms before the forces of the North and of Essos. Brienne of Tarth has never been one to step back from a fight. Even if she's fighting for two.
    Epilogue: Tarth.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here.
  • Tides (The), by slipsthrufingers. Rated R (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
(Author's summary) Jaime Lannister, recently missing a hand, a white cloak and his purpose in life, is sent to Tarth to decide whether the Lannisters will loan them the gold they so desperately need to thwart a disaster. He expects to negotiate with the Evenstar, but is stuck with the dour daughter instead.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here.
NB: Bea's only quibble with this one was that the ending felt (IMO) a tiny bit abrupt.
  • Time of my life (The), by djelibeybi. Rated R (Jaime/Brienne). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: When Brienne arrives in King's Landing for the first time, she expects two tedious months of uncomfortable gowns, embroidering with the queen, and her father's failed attempts at matchmaking. She does not expect the Kingslayer secretly teaching her to joust, under cover of darkness, so that she can compete as him in the king's nameday tourney. And she definitely does not expect to fall in love with him.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here.
  • Tissue Paper Wings, by angelowl. PG/PG-13 (Jaime/Brienne). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: Olenna had called her last night and told her the big news. They were casting for the pilot of a police procedural drama series, Keeper. She'd given Brienne a brief overview of the part and sent her a sample of the script.
Helen Oath was a cop with a heart of gold. Naïve yet hardworking, she'd been top of her class at the academy and one of the youngest women to ever make homicide detective. She was eager to learn from her new, more experienced partner, Sergeant Arthur Keeper. Unfortunately, she'd die at the end of the first episode to reawaken the jaded cop's zest for justice and remind him of his duty to serve his city and defend the innocent.

NB: PLEASE NOTE also that in order to read this fic you need to register at AO3 (free!).
  • To be in your arms again, by sdwolfpup. Rated R (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
(Edited author's summary) Jaime Lannister is rescued from the rubble, but whether Brienne will ever forgive him is another question.
For days, Jaime remembered only pain and Brienne. When he woke he would cry out and they fed him broth and medicine, and then he would sleep and he would dream of Brienne. Of fighting on the bridge, of walking through green fields, of blades wielded for each other. He hated to wake, not just because waking meant agony, but because it meant he wasn't with her.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in the current (i.e. 'Game of Thrones') pages.
  • Traveling Far, by astolat. Rated NC-17 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: Three weeks into their delightful slog across Westeros, during yet another charming day of shitting in the woods, eating half-raw squirrel, and trudging his feet bloody, the single most dour and uninteresting woman Jaime had ever met in all of Westeros stopped in the middle of a field, drew a deep breath, and said, “When I was seven, my aunt came to visit with her son. My father told me that as the daughter of the house, it was my duty to show hospitality to my guests and to be gracious to them. I wanted to make him proud. So for three weeks, I let my cousin follow me around and talk to me about spiders.”
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in the current (i.e. 'Game of Thrones') pages.
  • Two halves of a sword, by angel_deux. Rated PG-13 (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
(Author's summary) Brienne really does think it's a coincidence that Cersei Lannister starts being extra cruel to her after catching sight of Brienne's soulmark at a slumber party. It's not.
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in the current (i.e. 'Game of Thrones') pages.
NB: After reading this series, Bea highly recommends reading the related fic/sequel written by Samirant, 'dance with me and shake your bones' (NC-17).
  • Two Swords, by aelangreenleaf. PG/PG-13 (Jaime/Brienne). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: She’s always known that her mother has two swords. She asks the castellan one afternoon why knights have more than one sword. He tells her that not all knights carry two swords - he says it’s personal choice, one to be weighed between the advantages of having a second sword as backup should the first be taken from you, and the risk that someone might steal the second sword and use it against you. “Why do you ask, my lady?” he asks, raising an eyebrow. “Mother has two swords, Ser,” she says softly, “the one she wears on her hip, and the one she keeps in her room.” His face clouds then, but he quickly recovers. “Ah, my lady, that is something different."
NB: More fic by this author can be found here and is recommended in our 'Game of Thrones' pages.
  • Undone and the Divine (The), by mardia. NC-17 (Jaime Lannister/Robb Stark m/m slash). Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: If the gods were going to take him away from Cersei and everything he’d known, bind him to a boy half his age, Jaime almost would have preferred it if Robb Stark had been a fool, had been as dull and self-righteous as his father. Seven hells, he could at least have been ugly.

    Brienne,
She used wildfire. I had to. And for my sins, they've given me a crown. Come take it off my head and bring whichever Stark has the sturdiest neck to hold it. Hurry, before the Dragon Queen takes it with my head still attached to it.

  • With All Your Faults, by sea_spirit. Rated R (Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth). Recommended by Bea.
(Author's summary) In 1943, small-town slugger Brienne Tarth is recruited to play for Tywin Lannister’s newest business venture: the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. There, she meets Jaime, a maimed former Major League pitcher who’s been talked into managing one of his father’s teams. She can't stand her arrogant coach, and he is definitely not interested in his annoyingly principled star player. They don't like each other at all, really...until they do. Loosely inspired by "A League of Their Own," with slightly less baseball and lots more love story.

Author's summary: Brienne looks at him finally. She hates when he looks at her like that, all raw and open and very in love with her, because there’s absolutely nothing she can say or do that will even approach an appropriate response.
Brienne and Jaime go to Italy and she has a baby. They also spend a lot of time being in love with each other.
NB: Please note this fic is a modern AU.

Gargoyles
  • Gargoyle saga , by Christi Smith Hayden. G to NC-17. (Lots of couples and original characters.) Recommended by Angela.
Gargoyles was a cartoon that aired, jeez, a good 10+ years ago. Even if you've never seen the show you'll love this. Basically, a super rich guy named Xanatos bought a Scottish castle and moved it block by block to New York and reassembled it atop his high rise office building. This included gargoyle statues that were under a curse for a thousand years. They are now awake and dealing with the 20th century. This series starts with Daddy's Girl and ends with Home for the Holidays (story 19). I love this series -there's romance, heartache and Texan cuisine :) You'll be hooked before the end of the first story.
Guardians of the Galaxy (i.e. Marvel Universe)
  • for the ones left behind, by all apologies. Rated G. Recommended by Bea.
(This is a crossover with 'The Avengers'.)
Author's summary: "The aliens took him," Gregg Quill says. "They took my grandson."
"Sure they did, gramps," Tony Stark says.
"Peter Jason Quill, they took him in 1988," Gregg says. "Couldn't you talk to your friend? The big blond from space, the one with the hammer, maybe he could ask around for me."

  • I Know A Place (I'll Take You There), by KiaraSayre. Rated G. Recommended by Bea.
Author's summary: Living on a ship with - and Gamora still believes this, although not with the same edge of irritation as she did - the four biggest idiots in the universe isn't quite the same as saving the galaxy with them. It takes some getting used to.

  • Rootsong, by inlovewithnight. Rated G. Recommended by Bea.
