and one more birthday
Since I'm updating on birthdays, Sophia turned 6 yesterday! And yes, her birthday is the day after mine. I really can't believe she's 6. And just think...in 4 short years she will be 10! Time passes much too quickly.
I didn't have a party for her because of all the insecurities she's been having about kids at school. She wanted a party, but she'd get really sad every time she had to think about who to invite because she felt she didn't have any friends. I thought it wise not to push the issue and risk her having a horrible day. Fortunately, she's starting to feel more confident now. They did celebrate her birthday at school, and I got her a really cool Madagascar cake to bring in.
Anyway, for gifts I got her Star Wars Episode III (for myself, too!), along a few Star Wars action figures and a new game for her Leapster (Dora). She loved them all, and her response was "You rock, Mom!" I always love that one. :D
I've been going through some old photos on my computer, and I came across one of my favorites of me and Sophia that was taken almost exactly 5 years ago when she was 1 year old. And since it's fall and absolutely gorgeous outside, I thought it was fitting.
