So I'm late in posting what I did for Thanksgiving and wanted to get a quick recap in before it got too far away from me. I did make it up to San Jose to have a wonderful dinner with friends and family of Marie. Friday, per tradition, we hit up Dicken's Faire. Playing to the time and place the Faire is to emulate it was cold and parts of "town" were smokey. I picked up some awesome pottery (it was a pain to get back on the plane, but I made it work) and we had fun dressing down for photos. After was an AMAZING dinner at The House of Prime Rib in SF. I had never made it there while living in the city and I regret this, although it was spendy. Totally worth it though. Saturday was a low key day and then back to San Diego to keep the grind going.
I did have a fairly shitty day on Tuesday related to an unfair and completely untrue accusation by a class member. If you want to hear more, ask me directly. It appears to have been resolved to her satisfaction, but the whole thing just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It is not enduring the student body at this school to me, and although I have friends, I often feel out of place and alone. I think this is partially due to UCSD being a much larger campus than I am used to, and partially because I am not yet in a lab and don't have a "home" on campus yet. We'll see.
Aaaaaand, this is super cool:
