Room 414, Sunday Morning

Had Karolina ever thought ahead to what it might be like to turn into a boy overnight, she would not have expected to freak out as much as she had. Complete with flailing and putting on layer upon layer of clothing as if that would somehow force her body back to normal. She also hadn't left her room since yesterday morning. Another super effective ( Read more... )

Jim had listened to the radio so he knew what was going on this weekend. And, after he'd woken up this morning, he grabbed some clean clothes and headed up to Karolina's room to check in on her.

He knocked lightly and said, teasingly, "Lemme hear your deeper voice."

Karolina considered just ignoring him. But, that wasn't really in her nature, so she got up and made her way over to the door, in her ill-fitting jeans and her huge wool sweater she'd gotten for the previous winter in Fandom. She only opened the door a crack to peer out at him, though. Kind of hiding.

She still had her big blue eyes and her pastel glow. That was something.

"Karolina?" he asked, smiling at her. "Look a little different, don't you?"

Karolina gave him something that would have been a withering look from just about anyone else. From her, it was... resigned, maybe?

She moved to open the door a bit further, to let him in.

Liara... had not listened to radio. And being that she was a monogendered alien, she was not actually experiencing any difficulties.

She knocked on the door once. She had dawled about this long enough. "Karolina?"

... Oh no.

Karolina's gaze darted towards the door. "Uhh... she's not here right now!" she lied. Badly. And wincing at the sound of her own deeper voice and the way she managed to still make it go just a little bit squeaky at the end there.

She had no real idea why her first instinct had been to claim that, anyway.

Liara frowned. Who had Karolina's roommate been? "Who are you?" she asked. "I do not recognize your voice."

Both of Karolina's roommates had been girls. Guess she could always have pretended to be the new one. But.

"... Umm, no one?"

Good one, Kar.
