♥ [RESERVE] sora; kingdom hearts. three.naikuApril 24 2009, 21:28:52 UTC
The process of chaining memories back together, however, isn't as easy as taking them apart. It took a year for Sora's memories to completely return as they used to be before they were tampered with, in which the real trouble began. Organization XIII was actually throwing it's plan into action, going around worlds and trying to influence major villains to give into the darkness, to become powerful Heartless. If they became powerful Heartless, Kingdom Hearts will be complete that much faster. After a trip to Yen Sid's (King Mickey's former teacher), acquiring a new understanding about their journey and the evil plot of Organization XIII (oh--also, some new clothes, which are very important!), Sora, Donald and Goofy set out to go on their second journey. The worlds they visit are both familiar and new, as new creatures and the plot of Organization XII are unraveled. Sora, however, never loses sight of his real goal--to find King Mickey and Riku, his best friend. Although he does find Mickey in Hollow Bastion, Riku is still lost--until he finds him in the Land of Dragons. In a desperate battle, confrontational on one side and merely defensive on the other, Riku breaks out into a run, afraid to be caught. Sora calls after him in vain. Soon after, however, Sora returns to Twilight Town--to find that Kairi had just ran though! (If 'run through' loosely meant 'kidnapped by Axel', of course.) This is reaffirmed once he revisits Hollow Bastion, and both Saïx and Axel confront him for the second time, alluding to Kairi being in the network of worlds. Now he knows that both Riku and Kairi are out there, somewhere in the worlds, and he has to find them.
The puzzle seems to be near-completed once Sora receives a mystery package in complete blackness. Inside the package, there's a bar of sea-salt ice cream (a Twilight Town staple) and a photo of Hayner, Olette, Pence--and Roxas, his Nobody, all in front of the old mansion Sora came from once he reawakened. They travel to Twilight Town not too soon after, going towards the mansion. With Pence's help, they find a way to get into the virtual Twilight Town--the one that Roxas was a part of and resided in. They find a way out of the program, and into one of the many dark corridors. This one in particular leads to The World That Never Was--but Sora can't ever go from point A to point B without a few complications. Dusks abound start appearing, swarming the corridor. There are too many to fight, and Sora and company are tired before even half of them are finished. Enter Axel--who after a few futile attempts at wiping them out one at a time, unleashes a lethal attack. This ends in him fading away, but not before telling Sora that he had kidnapped Kairi--before Saïx took her. He tells him to go, find her. Sora does, quickly entering The World That Never Was. Not too long into his journey in the Dark City, does Roxas start a battle inside of his mind. Sora wins--proving his worth as Roxas' Other, in Roxas' point of view ("You make a good Other."). Even afterward, he has to fight his way into the Castle That Never Was. Saïx calls to him, saying that Organization XIII doesn't have to manipulate him anymore after he gets further into the castle (not to be confused with Castle Oblivion). As Saïx calls for more Heartless, to help Kingdom Hearts be complete, he hears Kairi calling out to him--but it's short-lived, as he's swarmed by Heartless.
Once he breaks free, he has to fight Xigbar--and after that fight, is when he's reunited with his friends. Kairi runs up to hug him, they hug, and Riku turns to go away. Sora looks over at him, and confronts him verbally as who he looks like, Xehanort's Heartless. Kairi, however, knowing Riku's true identity beneath the exterior image of Xehanort's Heartless, implores that Sora close his eyes and look into Riku's heart. There and then is when he understands who it is--and falls to his knees in relief ("Riku! It's Riku, Riku's here... I looked for you! ... I looked everywhere for you!"). With his friends by his side, Sora sets out and defeats every Organization member still standing--up until the last boss. The Superior; Xemnas.
