I think you have the right of it.

And love has changed your life, has informed your actions, has created inward and outward beauty in the world.

For that alone, it would be worth it -- but as you said, it is a gift, sometimes a necessary gift, to the people who have had their lives made better by your love, whether or not it was spoken aloud or reciprocated.

This, very much, makes me think of this, especially:

"It sometimes happens that what you feel is not returned for one reason or another-but that does not make your feeling less valuable and good."

So, of course, what I think you say here is absolutely right.
