I've said it half a dozen ways, but here's the one thing I've learned from my unresolved, unrequited love:
Of all the people i have loved, which one of them has not sometimes needed that same devotion? Which one has not in all their need and beauty deserved the attention, the time, the considered gift? Which would not shine in that relentless compassion?
The answer is none. Not one. What one person does not choose is not wasted.
