SGU 1x08 - Time

Nov 15, 2009 01:45

After not liking last week's episode much at all (parts of it I downright hated), I don't think I could have had a more opposite reaction to this week's. I LOVED THIS EPISODE A LOT. I think this is my favorite so far of the season. Show, you have successfully redeemed yourself for me.

In which Greer listens to the same music I do. )

I have missed the last two eps of this show. Whoops! Need to catch up. Maybe tomorrow!

Last night's ep was pretty darn awesome, if I do say so myself! (The episode before that I didn't care for, but YMMV.)

YMMV?

I will have to try and get to them tomorrow so I can experience the awesomeness that is promised with the latest ep...

Uh oh, now I'm worried I talked it up too much. (Sorry, YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary. I didn't like the previous ep, but most other people in the fandom seemed to. I'll be curious what you think.)

I'm still maintaining an overwhelming fondness for slashy ice planet ep! All shows should involve people trapped in ice crevices! Icy doom FTW?

I spent most of this ep thinking "looks Vancouver-y!". Also, I am annoyed by the photoshop "grunge" texture on all Keno footage. And find it hard to watch things where people speak directly to the camera. All that eye contact makes me uneasy, like I need to drop my eyes and hide from the TV.

(okay, I giggled at the Tragedy of Eli's Mother. And then felt like a terrible person. But way to be tragic in a late 1980's way, show! *is going to hell*)

ALL PLANETS ARE VANCOUVER. SO SAY WE ALL.

I liked ice planet ep as well! I agree! More characters should be trapped in various cave-ins!

All that eye contact makes me uneasy, like I need to drop my eyes and hide from the TV.
THE ACTORS ARE WATCHING YOU. AND JUDGING YOU. (mwahaha.)

But way to be tragic in a late 1980's way, show!
LOL, EXACTLY. That's why I was surprised! But, ya know, that still happens. So, yeah.

When we find alien life, no one will believe it. We'll all be thinking "nope, has to be fake. There aren't NEARLY enough ferns for this to be actual outer space!"

There should be an entire show made only of cave-ins or trapped in elevator type scenes. I might actually watch it.

DON'T LOOK AT ME, ACTORS! (it's sort of an autism thing)LOOK AT EACH OTHER. In lingering and slashy ways?

I just want you to know that I pictured Butterfly Sheppard saying this.

*Jumps up and down over Greer video!* Jamil Walker Smith was so great in this episode, I hope we see more revealed about his character soon.

Oh man, TJ. With the crying. And the talking about her father. <3

More unexpected Young and Rush bonding please!

I too am a bit disappointed that everything just gets reset and next week things go back to normal, or well, as normal as they can be. Like this ep never happened! Ahhh. Messes with my head.

I like just about every character more with each episode. TJ! Greer!

I loved that look on Rush's face when he realized Young recognized the quote. Movie bonding FTW.

My only complaint is that I'm a bit disappointed that Ming Na has had such a small role so far. Before this show started, the cast was talked up like she was a central main character. Oh well.

I LOVED this episode. And that pretty much for the very same points you mentioned. So very awesome. *hearts her show*
