Started going through my Farscape videos on my hard-drive (of which I have a ton of). I'll start with Lithium_Doll for now, since I just rec'd the Battlestar Galactica vid.

1. Vindicated

Contains a lot from The Peacekeeper Wars mini-series. Absolutely gorgeous use of effects, especially morphing. Different colors, shapes, & movements are layered upon one another in a really beautiful way.
2. Haunted

About one of my all time favorite episodes--Season 3's "The Choice"
3. Pompeii

About Season 4, mainly the final episodes. Scarrens, Peacekeepers, Scorpius--all want Crichton & the wormhole weapons. The song's voices & beats give an urgent feel to the video, like everyone's racing towards something.

Nicely done character study of Crichton. The good, the bad, & the ugly of him.

About the 2 Crichton clones in Season 3 (Talyn-Crichton & Moya-Crichton). This is a perfect song choice for the subject, exploring their different experiences & their need to be the "real" Crichton. Beautifully done.

Crichton vs. Scorpius. This is one of my all-time favorites. Scorpius destroys Crichton's world, so Crichton destroys his. The editing & attention to detail in this just amazes me. There's also a really great use of a split-screen.

A poignant look at Crichton's loss of innocence. His world has turned into shades of gray, instead of the black & white that it once was--particularly as Scorpius becomes the lesser of two evils & Crichton's forced to compromise. There's something very sad & bitter in the tone of this. It's like he's slowly losing that idealistic optimism & aware of the fact, almost grieving for it.

Wonderful song. I love this video--very unique, especially because of the pairing. Scorpius & Sikozu's relationship was an interesting one. They basically bonded over their outsider status & shared hatred of Scarrens. LithiumDoll makes great use of the limited number of scenes that there are of them together.

Another one of my all time favorites. The editing & scene choices are great. This is a very dark & disturbed Crichton. I adore the Nietzsche quotes used (I think it's Nietzsche): "Battle not with monsters, lest you become a monster"--"and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you."

The dreamy piano music fits nicely with the wedding imagery. There's a wonderful effect about half-way through--a scene of them kissing freezes every few seconds, turning into a black & white image layered over another scene. (You'll see what I'm talking about). I've never seen that before & thought it worked beautifully in this.
