It has been a fine weekend spent with existing friends as well as new acquaintances. I have one important point to make, however.
The exchange of a business card by a man to a woman or vice versa should never be interpreted as a romantic overture, especially when the surrounding conversation is 75% business, and the remainder casual smalltalk, with full restraint exercised on the man's part to prevent the illusion of flirtation.
Strangely, however, I have a rather saccharine personal email, replete with digital roses, in my inbox fewer than 40 minutes after leaving _____ Lounge. I certainly appreciate the compliment, but it stops there. Regardless of how pretty or charming you are, that sort of grasping makes me nervous. The answer is no, thank you.
