Magic Flute in two weeks' time

I'm slowly gathering enthusiasm for this production. Even for a mostly-amateur show, it has had more than a fair share of people dropping out and not turning up generally, but judging from current rehearsals it has more promise than several other shows I've done which turned out fine. The crucial test will be the first rehearsal in the theatre: even the best singing&acting won't come over that well in a funny little church hall that smells of cheese.

I'm in the process of inviting all my friends: a lot of them are also singers, so are more likely to come to an opera but will also notice the bad bits. What I have to do is avoid the temptation to imply that the show will be rubbish and they shouldn't bother to come, because I suspect it might work.
