i should've taken pictures, but didn't think of that until after I had left, but here's a rough sketch of the floor plan.
it's a duplex, about 3miles from campus, and only $900/month, and is in a nice area. a lot of smaller apartments in the area are $600-700. my room has a huge, almost a whole side of the room, window and 3 closets. i am absolutely in love with it. i need to call the landlord tomorrow to work out the details, but the guys living there now were all really nice...now to find a roommate
traffic getting into pittsburgh yesterday was horrid b/c one of the tunnel's is closed. it took me an hour and a half to get from the turnpike into the city. then i got lost going to my hotel b/c mapquest neglected to mention that 376 turns into 279 once you cross the river. it took me 2 hours. i almost burst into tears at one point b/c i was so frustrated and traffic was so awful. nate is my lifesaver. he hopped online and looked up directions for me. once i got through the driving nightmare, i had a nice relaxing evening to myself. i had a delightful italian dinner delivered to my hotel room - spaghetti with olive oil, garlic, and seasoning, and some garlic rolls which practically melted in my mouth...mmmmmm. then i hopped into the bathtub (not literally) and put on some opera and jazz. it was quite delightful. after that, i read for a little while in bed then went to sleep around 10. i think yesterday was the first time in 2 weeks that i've eaten properly and fell asleep fairly easily. i definately needed the 11 hours of sleep i got.
driving through the mountains made me so happy. there's something about being in the mountains that, for me, makes everything more bearable. it makes me feel like lighter and like i can breathe again. i don't know how to really explain it, but i am at peace with life once again.
now, off to play some minigolf =)
