I'm just -DONE-
This has been the Holiday Weekend from HELL, I tell ya. Let me start off by saying, I realize that other people are in far worse off situations than I am. I know this, but for me, I'm just over it.
Friday, at about 4:30, Ian and I are sitting at home, watching a little television, when it suddenly goes dark. The tv pops up a message about how the channel is no longer transmitting. About the same time our internet goes down. The first thing I think of is.. "Honey, did you pay the bill?" Well it's on auto pay, so I know it's been paid, but still. So he heads upstairs to speak to Verizon, on hold for more than an hour, he comes down and he's sweating. He tells me that it's set for 73* and it's reading 80*. Well that's just not good. So I try to call our rental agent, to let them know there's an issue, that someone needs to come out and check on this. Only one problem, it's 5:30 on a holiday weekend.
Well that's just swell. They have a matience hot line, yet there's no voice mail, Convenient really, to have that and offer no way to leave a message. It was nearly 90* in the house by the time I got windows open, and ian got someone from Verizon on the phone. They showed us how to reset the internet, and we thought it would work. it did.. for 5 whole minutes. Since it was miserable in the house, we decided to hole up in a hotel.
It's 3 days later, and I'm still there. I did manage to get ahold of the company today. they sent out an electrician, who told me it wasn't an issue in the house but an issue with TECO, the electric company, So I called them, they got it up and running by 8pm. So why am I still in the hotel? Seems the AC is still fucked. It is blowing heat only. Either I'm out of Freon or something.
Either way, This week and last are SO fired.
