Nothing was built to last anymore. Harry's quills had to be replaced after three months, his jeans after two. Nothing was made to survive the long run, and just when his relationship had fallen into that category he didn't know.
Their differences had once united them, but now all he saw were fractures. Fractures between him and Blaise, both of them subtly vying for Draco's attention. Fractures between him and Draco, old wounds not quite as closed as they'd once tried to believe. Fractures between Draco and Blaise, their shared history and the inheritance of their parents leading to blazing rows over who had led who into the fold of the Death Eaters, and who had found the way out.
And so, divided they had fallen, living in the same space, but in different lives. Harry was tired, too tired to keep fighting, and as he closed his suitcase and left the note on the bedside table, he hoped that Draco and Blaise would be a happier couple than they'd been with him in a triad.
