You know, I think I quite possibly have a position at Olan Mills now.... Not so much as a photographer, but as a sales associate, which means I'm going to have to be listening to a million people telling me no when I beg them to get their pictures taken. I told the interviewer that I was used to rejection, so I shouldn't have any trouble at all. ;)
I think Wendy, the studio photographer at Standale's Olan Mills, and I are fated to be together. hahaha. I talked to her the other day about the Canon SLR that Chris lent to me (I really can't stop talking about that.....I'm a nerd.) and when I told her it was called an AE-1, she looked me dead in the eye, "Amanda....I think we have the exact same camera." It's fate, I tell you. We both have similar artistic views, as she has often admitted, and we both wrinkle our noses at the mechanics of photography. It's an ART, not a science. ;) We're both pretty geekily passionate about it. Wendy and I are soul sisters. Word. Oh yeah, we both wear glasses too. Whoa.
So the only reason I'm not signed on to be a photographer yet is because the only position open would be a replacement photographer for those that call in sick. Meaning very few hours a week. So if/when I am officially hired, I will try my hardest to be "promoted" to photographer when the opening comes. If Wendy loves my portfolio, then I must be doing something right!
Anyway, here's a photograph of Stephanie, who loves granny floral print blouses. Still more experimenting.
Kyle, you WILL bond with my new camera on Monday. Or else.
